Evoluzione in meglio o in peggio? Ho iniziato co l’elastico e lancio a mano poi motore 2,5 cm3 poi elettrico, ma di proporzioni limitate...oggi ho smesso, ma guardo con interesse per apprendere.

Was it an extremely windy day, or something? The trees weren't moving much but the models were blown all over the shop!
@MrDazedOne7 жыл бұрын
It was indeed! I think the trees were too far away to give an idea of the wind, but if you look at the wind sock at 5:35 it's all over the place!

The Q-Tee was built from the top quality HangarCats short kit hangarcats.com/ My model is 3-channel RC. You can get the details here www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1921935 Keep the tail end light. Hope this motivates!! PS - I was maybe one of the longest travelled to the Mayfly. We drove from Germany just for the event! Will be there again May13/14th 2017.

In the 70's I lived in Bedford and commuted to Vauxhall every day. Both my kids were born in Bedford. Attended all the model events at Old Warden (remember Kite Day?). Transferred to Opel, which is what got me to Germany. The long weekend to Old Warden and back is pure nostalgia and well worth all the driving. Not just for the model flying, but raiding Sainsbury's for pork pies, Cornish pasties, English sausages, English bacon.........

I was also flying my Q-Tee and Schoolmaster. If you look up ''Q-Tee'' on Outerzone there is a picture from Saturday morning of both models with ''product placement'' of the Outerzone T-Shirt !
@MrDazedOne7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the extra info, I didn't seem to get either of those on film. The "Q-Tee" is just what it says on the tin. Might be one to add to my list. What's the motor/ESC/prop set-up on it? Was it flying on a timer? Cheers :-)
@avro69487 жыл бұрын
Yes it's a Kavan Bloody Mary ARTF. Mine! It also can be seen at 9:00. It's about 12 years old and I took it along to fly when it was gusty as it has earned its keep many times over. Flies on a Speed 400 with gearbox. I mostly scratchbuild. At 1:58 is my Fizz. You can just make out the name if you stop frame. In case you're scratching your heads about that one too, it's a new build of a model I designed and built in 1973 with a Cox glow. It's on the lines on Ken Willard's models.

whats making the humming noice .?
@MrDazedOne8 жыл бұрын
+Jerry Anstey Hi, thanks for your comment. I'm assuming you're talking about the most pervasive, loud, high-pitched humming? This is mostly the control-line planes about 100 metres or so away. But there are also the engines of some of the powered free-flight models and an RC section with some pretty large planes all adding to the lovely background noise :-)

Good vid, how are the gliders being towed? A winch?
@MrDazedOne8 жыл бұрын
Hi, sorry, I must have missed this question when you posted it. Some of the gliders are being towed by someone running along the ground with a fish-line or similar, but most are being launched with a bungee. The one I use with the red & white West Wings Swallow is based on the Peterborough Club 36" glider event (www.peterboroughmfc.org/membersmodels2012/05BungeeGlider.htm), namely 5 foot or so of 1/8" rubber and then 10 foot of light tow-line from freeflightsupplies.co.uk.

Raymond Merrill Thank you, the wind was pretty smooth for the most part. It still caught me out on a few occasions though, ending up in a tree on one! No major harm done though and I still fly it most flying days as a relaxing warm up before trying my hand at something faster :-)
