I can’t believe no one has covered the fact that getting the cage out and especially back in is often nearly impossible without breaking it. Horrible design. No way it should be that difficult.

Nice work. What Fernco coupling did you use to connect the 4" PVC stub to the 4" Orangeburg pipe?

A wye and 1/8th bend would be a better fitting but it would come out past the brick wall too far.

That’s awesome! I came to see if anyone else had a Honda with this many miles. My 2002 Honda Odyssey just tacked at 400,000 today 👍. I hope your accord lives long and well 🇯🇵🇺🇸

what about the cylinder deactivation system (VCM) any trouble with that? Oil consumption, fouled spark plugs causing misfires, vibration when the vcm kicks in possibly damaging or breaking engine mounts?

Copper will always be king of plumbing for longevity and most importantly because it can be recycled almost indefinitely.

I know this is kinda odd to ask on here but I’m interested in becoming a subsurface operator in NC. I’m in the process of getting my installers license and inspection license. I know the back door is closed in this side of the industry but I would to learn more. Thanks

Sorry for the belated reply. You are welcome to give me a call at home with questions. My phone number is easy to find just google Sarratt Septic Ph 828-447-5184. After I got my grade IV and inspectors certification I took the subsurface operator course at NCSU. It is probably, besides drip, one of the best courses they offer. Take lots of notes. Get the "needs to know" from the subsurface operator board to help you study for the exam. I studied NCSUs workbook that they give out at the class and the NTK from the operations board. I passed the test on the first try. I have not done anything with my subsurface operator certification yet. I have a full-time job and am still trying to build up a client base; my full-time job interferes a lot.

How did you compression test this since it had eight spark plugs? Did you remove the exhaust or intake side plugs? Thanks
@ericsarratt6377
@ericsarratt6377 2 жыл бұрын
I don't know. I just tested the plugs down the driver's side of the engine. This is my first actual full-rebuild. I probably should have done both sides. When the compression was really bad on one of the plugs I went ahead and pulled the head. I had valve marks on the top of my pistons so I knew I needed a rebuild.

Hey Eric, did an engine swap on my 89 hardbody and was wondering if you plan on doing any videos on the vacuum routing? Thanks!

Yes. When I put it back together I will take videos of the vacuum tubes. I have the Nissan shop manual and will connect everything exactly as the manufacture specifies.
