It has electric motors to wind up the weights for the chiming and striking mechanisms when they need so winding. The main clock mechanism, certainly until recently had its weight manually wound up three days a week - see other videos about it; I don't know if it still does in 2024.

Why would you want to tune these? They will probably be cracked again, and then the same problem would occur. It's better to put the old ten elsewhere and have a new ring instead.

@@RingerLuca651 They should have disposed of the front nine (not listed) and tried to obtain either the former Paisley or Cleator Moor eights and augmented them to ten. By the time the front nine had been sold and a replacement ring bought and augmented, there wouldn't have been a huge cost difference between either project. But to weld seven cracked bells from a set of ten dustbins of poor musical quality of no great historical interest and to tune them to try and improve them is a scandal. If you replace dustbins with bells of a high musical quality, people do come and bells like that are in much demand.
