Hi John, thanks. I’m calling this a once in a lifetime experience. But, if I ever do go back it will be in winter. 4 times the number of alligators in Florida as there are deer in Maryland. Incredible. I’m glad I helped you get thru the day :)

It was a great time. It was my first time on a party boat and I didn't know what to expect. I figured there may be others in the same position who might enjoying seeing how it went and how it worked. I will be back, but next time with a cooler and my own rig with mono. Hopefully during a yellowtail snapper run. Thanks for watching and commenting.

The carvings are extremely impressive.
@EnjoyingRetirement2 ай бұрын
Hi, they sure are. I can’t imagine how much work went into them all. Fortunately they were held on by iron nails. When the ship sank, the nails rusted thru, and the carvings fell into the mud which helped preserve them so we can admire them today. If the Vasa hadn’t sunk as it did, it would have ended up being just another ship that served and was repurposed or destroyed in the end and we would never have seen it. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

That's so cool! Was it just a few days ago?! Was it cold during the fall?
@EnjoyingRetirement2 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks. Yes, it was day before yesterday. I didn’t think about temperature at all, it didn’t cool down noticeably at all. About 87 on the ground and I wore shorts and a t shirt and felt fine. I hope this video helps other people know a bit more about what the whole process is like. Definitely an incredible experience.

Awesome video! Did your goggles fly off during the dive?!
@EnjoyingRetirement2 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you. The goggles are safe, we took them off after the free fall portion. They are just needed during free fall due to the velocity you’re going. After that they come off and you just enjoy the view. Thanks for watching.

Informative, thanks. Did you rent your equipment from Stuart's Cove? If so, how would you rate it?
@EnjoyingRetirement2 ай бұрын
Hi, we rented everything but mask, fins, and snorkel the first time we went with them, in this video. The next time we took our own gear. Their rental gear is about the same that you will find on most shops in the area, and Florida. Decent and serviceable. Not great, but I didn’t see any problems or feel any concern about using it. They do like weight belts instead of internal weights though. I had rash guard pants on the second trip and couldn’t get the weight belt to stay in position with the nylon pants, but otherwise all was good. I’d say that if you’re doing multiple days of diving bringing your own gear would be good, but if it’s just one day then you should be fine with their rental equipment. Have fun, thanks for watching.

As a hater of treble/barbed hooks, I've been doing this for many years as well as building my own spinners. I also use varied hook styles in order to fish plastic trailers. I only wish the industry would get on board with more options. My old eyes and arthritic hands have made hook-swapping more challenging than id like.
@EnjoyingRetirement3 ай бұрын
Hi, I agree with you on treble hooks. They are awful to get out of a mouth of an undersized fish. Almost always results in a dead fish. I have seen that Mepps makes a single hook Aglia spinner now, but they can be hard to find. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Best wishes.

Hi, thanks for sharing your design! But I do have a question regarding the two D ring attachments that seem to receive all the driving force from the motor, are they still holding up strong after long time use, I mean they are glued after all, so just wondering if that will be a weak point over time or they are reliable per your expereince? thanks ~

Hey, it’s a lot of fun. But like all fishing everyday isn’t like the one I filmed. I got very lucky with a beautiful day and abundant fish. But even if there hadn’t been fish, just floating around in the warm water with the opportunity is a blast all by itself. I hope you get a chance to do it. Here’s a thought from my older age: no matter how old you are you will always look back and wish you had done more 10 years ago.

@@EnjoyingRetirement I like fishing there. I normally paddle across Whitehall Bay to get to it, but I'd like to take my son and I would likely be towing him behind me on his 6.5' kayak. I figured maybe if I hug the shoreline coming down from SPSP it won't be rough on a day with low winds.
