Impressive video, ScentZatura. Eager to see more content from you. I smashed that thumbs up button on your upload. Keep up the fantastic work. Your insights on the differences between the EDP and the Xtray versions are spot on! Considering the popularity of the Aki Gala wood, do you think its use will eventually lead to a new trend in fragrance compositions, or will it fade as consumers seek more unique scents?
@ScentZatura12 сағат бұрын
Thank you very much! Appreciate your support! It's use is already becoming a trend I think. Brands seem to ask Givaudan to add it for it's tenacity. It'll probably remain popular for a while.. 5-10 years, before another trend comes along if we are to go by past observations

Pros- Essential Parfum price points. This is, I believe, good for the industry. Cons- Not by style. Not this, not ELDO Marquis de Sade. But I do enjoy B683 Thanks

Such an intriguing one! I think of it as an example of how anything that can be done poorly with fragrances (sickly sweet, overly fruity, etc.) can also be done well in the right hands. I don’t love fruity, tropical or sweet scents, yet I returned to my decant of this over and over, just to figure it out. It’s very engaging. There’s something about how the pineapple and lavender intertwine and play off each other that is fascinating. Never would have thought to put them together. Lovely review!
@ScentZatura4 күн бұрын
Totally.. spot on! On first look, it can be really bizarre and then it starts to reveal all it's layers. It's one of those cases where it is worth revisiting. I am not big on the pineapple express either, but do enjoy this. Only pineapple I own I think. Thanks Dave!

I also have a few; keen to see how Ambre Sauvage compares to Ambre Fetiche. Never had chance to try the Myrhhe unfortunately.

@ScentZatura5 күн бұрын
Nice! I am not getting cigarettes as a smell directly but definitely trying to imply getting into it with it's sticky sweetness and textured lavender

Happy to see your review on this as Carlos Benaim is one of my favorite perfumers and I think Eau De Magnolia and Music for a while are super underrated. It’s is like an overripe pineapple sitting on a bed of patchouli sprinkled with lavender and caramel sauce. It’s so bizarre, but I can’t stop thinking about it
@ScentZatura6 күн бұрын
Thank You! Absolutely.. really enjoy Eau de Magnolia too. Without the Overripe Pineapple, it might have ended up being another conventional Amber-fougère. It really shakes up the scent and makes it peculiar.

@christianbreitkreuz17107 күн бұрын
@@ScentZaturaThe Extreme is fine, but the EdP for me feels more complex and interesting, even more masculine. Then again, you can get both for under €90/100ml so it's not a huge decision, like buying a synthetic oud fragrance for 360 bucks...😂

Thx for the thorough review! I always look forward to your vids. Hard to say in a sea of Outlands haters, but In a moment of insane perfume addiction, I was one of those that blind bought Outlands in the 1st week. I heard Patchouli and hit buy. May be my craziest blind buy? It’s A big surprise. Still working out my thoughts on it. Glad to have heard yours!
@ScentZatura9 күн бұрын
Thank you Brian! Outlands does seem to be the most popular of the 3. The patchouli is quite modern glossy type thing. Unfortunately not for me at all. That's quite a pricey blindbuy indeed. Hope you enjoy it. Cheers!

Hello Pradeep, thanks for your review. I was so looking forward to your review as I trust your nose and our tastes do overlap quite a lot. I am not surprised that the Duchaufour’s one is the most appealing. It was the only one I was interested in as I do not like Rasquinet’s style and Outland sounded like the gooey diabetic Vanilla / Ambery stuff that is currently trending.
@ScentZatura14 күн бұрын
Hi Sandra👋🏻 Thanks! Yes, Duchafour's was the one I found had some interesting elements. Rasquinet's was Lackluster and Cecile's is just like another one of her sugary candied concoctions. Overall an underwhelming collection as speculated

@ luckily I live not too far from the ridiculous American Dream mall, home to the one and only free standing Amouage boutique in the U.S. I imagine they will get them in soon if not already so I can test next time I feel like going there.
@DaveNYC15 күн бұрын
Thanks for a thorough review! The challenge for Amouage, it seems to me, is convincing people of this special process when none of the end users has any way to know how the aging or wood chips affected the result. Clearly there is a market since Outlands sold out quickly, but there will always be excited first adopters who will blind buy etc. Given the negative reception these received and now having heard several reviewers I trust come in with middling reviews, I have my doubts about the ultimate success of this experiment. I'm going to ScentXplore in NY in a couple of weeks and the welcome bag contains the Essences sample set, so I will soon see for myself. (I was not about to pay $50 for three 1.5ml samples from the website!).
@ScentZatura15 күн бұрын
Thank you Dave! yeah, exactly.. what's the point of all this exercise if it really doesn't elevate the wearing experience. Nobody is going to smell these on test strips all day like perfumers. I hope this is a one off too as the results aren't great. The worst part is this might influence other brands. Let's see if they'll double down or take a different route.
@Joseph-J-15 күн бұрын
I agree with you, and can’t stand Outlands. It’s messy and confused. I prefer lustre of the 3, but I don’t actually like any of them. Seems a waste of a good marketing push to launch these to spearhead a new aged collection.

It's hard to dislike vanilla (and I don't) but I recently noticed how many perfumes I have that do not use it, given how ubiquitous it is. Frederick Malle, for example, seems to do without it quite often, perhaps finding it too easy, too obvious.
@ScentZatura15 күн бұрын
Yes, many brands do it for saleability from business point of view I guess. I am not big on the sweet sugary concotions using Vanilla. Its present only in small quantities and not used as a dominant note with brands like FM, so it does not stick out.
