I have confidence issues so have done all the resin prepping needed to start, but I haven't started. I saw this video a couple of months ago and finally am getting the nerve to try this project with Christmas in mind. I found the fabric today and ordered some but wanted to let you know that I'm copying your idea - as closely as I can manage. I'm part of a local online farmer's market. I have listed several handmade odds and ends but people seem to be focused on the plants I have right now. Maybe that will change when the weather cools off. I have Complex PTSD and propagating plants is very therapeutic so I'm not complaining - I'm just flatlining on other types of creativity. Trying to copy what you've done will also be therapeutic with the added benefit of not having more live plants to tend (I have close to 250 right now - youngsters). I'm hoping that the more interesting ideas I try my hand at the closer I'll get to unlocking my creative side. It's worth a try but I feel a bit guilty about plagiarizing your work. If you'd rather I not please let me know and I'll respect your wishes and will find something else to start resining with. Take care and please continue making and posting videos - talent like yours really needs to be seen! ☮💚🐎🐕🎶

New to resin. I cant quite visualize what you are describing for making mold? Cut bottom off then what?
@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle 18 күн бұрын
@@ohcheap1 so the wider part of the bowl is at the top. You want that part at the bottom, flip the bowl over, cut the bottom of the bowl out. Hot glue the rim down and pour the silicone in. You don't have to do that. But it basically makes a reusable surround. It will make more sense if you watch some different silicone mold making videos.

I so love this idea. I tried one out however I keep getting black dot pop up on image. Do you k ow why that would happen? Thank you
@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle 21 күн бұрын
@@katiecisco4027 if a dark dot shows after applying resin it's because the paper was not sealed well enough with the glue and a tiny amount of resin has soaked into the paper to create a dark spot. (It only takes a pinhole) Add an extra layer of glue or a few extra layers on the paper making sure each layer is completely dry before adding another. If you rush it it won't seal properly. I hope this helps

This smeared my marker on paper. .. does the spray work the same
@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle 23 күн бұрын
Marker is a different formula of ink than printer ink. Printer ink is much more stable. You'll have to do some experimenting to see what will work best. I have never tried with marker. Also I would not trust a spray. The concept of the brushing the glue on prevents pinholes. A spray is nothing but pinholes for the resin to leak in.
@MicheraJai
@MicheraJai 23 күн бұрын
Okay I already glued the paper on a canvas so do I just spray on top of that and it should be fine ?? Couple coats of course

@MicheraJai 23 күн бұрын
@@ResinBelle do you think putting some glue after the spray would help .. I just don’t want the marker to spread cause it did with the glue
@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle 23 күн бұрын
@@MicheraJai the only thing I can think is maybe if you use a spray sealer over the marker. Not spray glue but a sealer or possibly a fixative? Just ballpark idea since I've never done it.
@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle 23 күн бұрын
@@MicheraJai I really don't know, I can't say that it will be fine. I would test it on scrap paper myself before trying it on something I spent time on.

So as far as the playing cards go, they were definitely a design that was originally made by The Aquarius playing card company. 😄 Which is why the tuckbox image looks so pixelated. They just scanned the designs and copied them onto their cheap card stock. 😆 And that’s the main reason why the borders of the cards don’t line up the way they should, either. For a cheap find to protect your original licensed ones, these are good. But I wouldn’t recommend anyone collect these decks for merch.

I’m just wondering why you heated it all to cure it. Was it to cure it quicker, remove bubbles. I love the idea of the tray, but I would have just left it once smoothed, so just wondering why you did that, not criticising, simply curious to learn.
@ResinBelle
@ResinBelle Ай бұрын
Using the heat gun was to remove the micro bubbles that had risen to the surface. Slightly heating the resin will allow the bubbles to rise faster and more efficiently. Heat can also make resin cure faster but for a larger piece that isn't always a good thing as it could cause a flash cure or cure bubbles in place before they have a chance to rise to the top and pop. So it's a delicate balance. Heating the surface just enough to allow the bubbles to rise and pop but not enough to make it cure faster or too fast

I have never done resin before, just received my kit today. I have a tiny handwritten note my Mom wrote for me before she passed, I was starting a new project in my life and she wrote something wishing me the best and giving me her support. I treasure that little piece of paper like nothing else! And I thought of doing a bookmark in resin, and put the note there so I could have it with me always and preserve it, your video helped me avoid messing up!!! Thank you!
