Hello Julie! If you have unlabeled/unsued wires, you will need to trace the wire back to the HVAC system to check the connection on the motherboard, and check the labels to know the function of the wire. If they are connected but not labeled, the best option will be to seek support from an HVAC technician. -Dinorah

How do I change the priority room it’s set on. It cools my living room and guest bedroom downstairs but in my bedrooms upstairs it’s super hot and barely comes out of the register. Dying of sleeping in the heat when it’s freezing downstairs in the living room.

You can select the priority from the thermostat's screen or from the app. On the app, select your thermostat, then tap the priority icon and select the desired room and hit 'Save'. On the screen of the thermostat go to Menu (3 bar icon), then select 'Priority', select the desired room and then press 'Done'. -Maria

Hi Joe, thank you for reaching out to us. If you have an unused wire, please trace it back to your air handler/furnace and make sure that it is connected to the C / Com24 terminal. Then go to the thermostat side and connect the wire to the C terminal. -Maria

Called Honeywell - these inputs are only valid if you are using a heat pump or some similar set up - these inputs caused my FURNACE to kick on NON STOP in JULY while we had guests and I was at work - NIGHTMARE - I needed "13" amd "1" -

I watched your video a couple of times and made sure that I am following instructions and I have a question; After a power failure during a thunderstor, the AC kicked back on and all was good untill we noticed that it is colder in the house than usual while the thermostat was set to 74 degrees, i eventually cranked it up to 77 wich is still cold but 78 is not comfortable. I tried resetting the thermostat to factory settings and still doign the same thing. I downloaded two apps on my phone to read room tempreture and they both read lower by 3 to 4 degrees. My thermostat is Honeywell pro. Hopefully i can get some help,

If the thermostat isn't connected to Wi-Fi, you can manually set the date by navigating to the MENU and choosing "Clock/Date". Sure, you'll want to wire this to the exact terminals as the old thermostat, Red wire to R terminal Blue wire to the terminal it was connected to on the old thermostat White wire to W terminal Green wire to G terminal -Joey

Access can be granted to any or all locations created through the Resideo - Smart Home app. Start by tapping the Global Drawer (three-line menu) button at the upper left-hand corner of the screen. Select "Users" and tap on the "Invite New User" button. Type in the email address of the user you wish to invite and press "Send" If the invited email already has a Resideo - Smart Home account set up, the location will automatically show up in their account. If the invited email doesn’t have an account, they will receive an email invitation prompting them to download the Resideo - Smart Home app and create their own account. -Cesar

There are no instructions on how to set up and check other devices. It came with 1 extra device but you have to guess how to use it. I would not recommend it. Yes, I have called them 4 times.

Definitely need to add more periods. Every home has their own quirks, giving us the ability to set more periods can help make our homes more comfortable. Especially for those living in homes that have temperature differences between rooms.

There is one strange behavior that I have found about the Honeywell 4204. Smoke detector reset. If the smoke detector is cleared manually, say twisting off the smoke from the base for example, then it will not perform a smoke detector reset. It will only perform a smoke detector reset if the smoke is still in alarm when the panel is cleared. Likewise, if you are using a non-smoke fire alarm device, water flow switch for sprinklers, heat detector, or a manual pull station, then it will not do a smoke detector reset on those, except for the Simplex heat detector, it might do a smoke detector reset on a Simplex heat detector. This can be very confusing and can cause you to request a service call when there is no need due to a mistaken belief that the 4204 is not working. I found this out the hard way. Also, fire alarm sirens tied to the 4204 will not be silenced by pressing the 1 key, like you can on the Honeywell vista 20p built in siren circuit. You have to press the security code then 1 to silence a 4204 operated fire alarm siren. Also, strobes hooked to the 4204 will not do audible silence or selective silence. Pressing the code then 1 will turn off the strobe as well. To get around this problem, program the 4204 to turn the strobe on during a duress event. Then press in your distress code and presto! You have audible silence! I found this out on my Honeywell vista 20p system that I installed to protect my family and my dog.

Can this adapter be use for non-honeywell thermostats? Nest? My ac unit looks like a rats nest with 4 to 6 wires of each color. I just want to use the thermostat without having to replace the batteries every few days.

It will take you to zone 57 which is the next avaliable. The keyfob uses 4 zones that's why it goes from 61 to 57. Follow the steps from earlier and you should be fine.

The option 125 of this menu allows you to set that. The number below should be set at 0 for Fahrenheit or at 1 for Celsius. -Cesar

@@ResideoSupport Of course I have already pressed mode button and it goes from heat to off to heat again without the cooling indicator ever coming on. It is already too late the customer purchased a Sensi and I installed it. I will be seeing that customer again and maybe he'll have the stat still.

Thank you for reaching out. If the thermostat original registration was made in the TCC portal and it is imported to the Resideo app these options are available only at the original platform. Some models will not display that option as the permanent or temporary hold are made directly from the main screen of the app where the thermostat setpoints can be adjusted. -Cesar

Also, this model of thermostat has the Minimum and Maximum Heat/ Cool Setpoint feature which will allow you to lock the temperatures. This will override the schedule and the temperature will only change if you change it manually or if you press 'Run' to resume the schedule. -Maria
