Thanks for the encouragement! I'm not going to be a world record holder or anything like that, but I really just enjoy playing this game and trying to get better. 😉

Yep. Boss fight is easy mode this way. It can be done much faster without armor and with precise timing and pathing, but I'm not good enough for that yet.

heya chunk, this is spincycle from the old forgehub days. great to see you again, posting clips from such a classic like dark souls, and of such an iconic cheese :D
@aChunkАй бұрын
Hey bud! How's it going? Dark Souls has slowly and steadily taken over as my game of choice as Halo has continued to get worse. It's pretty much the only game I play right now and I'm having a blast learning about speed running it.
@thirdmunkyАй бұрын
That's awesome. I played through DS in college and had a great time. I've been playing a bunch of Baldur's Gate 3 and getting into challenge runs. Loads of fun learning that game too :D I went to check in on ForgeHub yesterday and I saw that all the forums were gone :( Sad to see it go.

Great vid man, regarding hang: I never knew u could get the rox from dark red corner, and your reference to get the sniper from that spot is just way better than other positions I've seen in other vids. Also your light ray reference for dammy makes easier to get the rox from bottom computers, compared to other vids.

didn't they nerf this in the remake? im under the impression that they used halo2 physics for the remake of halo1

These were all recorded in MCC - they work as shown in the video.

I know. That wasn't what I was asking. My friends are trying to convince me to play remastered, but halo2 physics suck. If I can't time power ups and nade sniper I don't want to play. xD
@aChunk2 жыл бұрын
@@jesauce9464 Gotcha. The physics are definitely part of what makes H1 special. I agree that even if the levels were duplicated exactly, it wouldn't be the same experience with different physics.

7:20 i am playing MCC and i cannot for the life of me get the camo to land IN the rocket pit, it keep flying off the map. Any tips for my positioning (as on where the master chief stands)?
@aChunk3 жыл бұрын
Sadly, I don't have any great advice. It's a touchy one. You can see essentially where I stand in the clip, but I personally don't use this one frequently because of the inconsistency. There is probably a better aiming point and/or character placement that I've overlooked, so I'd recommend just continuing to experiment.

@@aChunk okay now i have a question for wizard, for some reason i can get the botttom-left grenade throw consistently lile lets say 95% of the time but the bottom right is really hard to do. I tried adjusting to the left like you said in the video but it's just so inconsistent in my experience. Is this normal?
@aChunk3 жыл бұрын
@@insertnamehere2746 I'm really bad at all of these on Wizard, lol. It's really easy to get a clip for a video, but I don't do them fast enough or consistent enough to use them very often in game. It's definitely doable, and there are many, many people that are much better at them than me, but I don't have any great advice aside from what I recommended earlier - experiment with standing in slightly different positions and testing out aiming points. My goal for the videos was to have both standing points and aiming points be easily distinguishable whenever possible, but they often don't produce the best or most consistent results. They are good starting points. It's very cool that you are taking the time to learn these on a game that's now almost 20 years old. :)

Yea, nice guides for those that are curious. I don't think these work the same when playing on OG X-Box. Frame rate broke the physics. It is a shame that lots of the charm was lost in the MCC edition, as it doesn't do it justice. I grew up playing Halo on the X-Box.
@aChunk4 жыл бұрын
Yes, these are specifically for the MCC version. I played the game since the first day it released on OG X-Box, but never had the tools to make this type of video until it was released as part of MCC. If someone is interested in learning the nade points on OG, there are other good videos out there. These video's can also be used as a guide, though some experimentation would be required to find the correct positionings and nade points. I have a feeling that anyone playing the game on OG Xbox that's interested in knowing nade points probably already knows them. There's not exactly a huge influx of new players, lol.

Great new design here Chunk! I think there are still areas to improve on, scale of the map seems to be a tad large but there aren't too many paths so it should create too much of an issue with engagement times. Whenever I look at your maps I see a lot of nostalgia for Halo Reach maps we played and loved in the past. Serum by Noooch was one that came to mind when you were traversing the 90 degree catwalks. The overall design is really great except for the 90 degree pillar room where there aren't any direct paths to reach the pillar area. Comparatively the other areas are much more interesting to fight in for me. Glad you're on a break so we can see you update this in the near future!

ahah. It's not even that. I work 12-15 hours a day, 6 days a week. After that comes family time and food/exercise. Forge is pretty damn low on my priority list. I love it, but don't have much time for it. I get about 2 good days per month to forge. And yeah, I've had a lot of help from other people. BuddyJumps did the art on Genenis. WeedCough did the art on Fumigation. He's also done it on another map I'll be releasing soon called 'Avalon'. Anyway, I appreciate the patience ;)
