Hi Leah, your conversation with Pierre is very interesting. There were many facts that this interview confirm me about Pierre Chrétien and his music. For me the most interesting part in his music is Cinephonic. Is the most similar to the musician i told you. Gary Mcfarland. If you are interested in Gary i wrote about him in my wordpres blog . To find it "musicaquemesorprende.wordpre ..." Then you look for "abril 2018" and you'll find "GARY MCFARLAND LA LEYENDA DEL JAZZ QUE DEBIO SER UNA ESTRELLA DEL POP" Here you have information and music about McFarland and also two Spotify lists. Well is in spanish maybe using a translator you do not have any problem. this is my thirth attempt to give you this information. The other two werw rejected. I suposse it was because they include direct links to my blog. Bye Leah, have a hapy 2025

Well i'm very happy finding this conversation with Pierre Chretien. I bought last year trough bandcamp the second Cinephonic record and it was fantastic. I also think about Ennio Morricone listening to Cinephonic. And also remindsme another strange jazz musician that plays vibraphone and arrange music. GARY MCFARLAND. I recomend you listen to Gary. It was great but had a sad end in his life.

Thanks for your feedback; I agree about the second Cinephonic record - so wonderful! I hadn't heard about Gary McFarland before.

Thank you Leah for yet another wonderful podcast. I had just recently started following Katherine a few months ago and this was a great way to get to know her. Not only is she an exceptional musician, but a very smart ,articulate ,thoughtful woman who expressed a lot about the issues that I had to deal with when I was young and in the business.Bravo!

When someone plays jsbach Vivaldi or jazz even rock metal beatbox on recorder then people don't think it's a toy' yet they rather hear pop music on it' I started composing on it I find it makes more sense than the acoustic guitar I love it with all my heart and soul for composing it's very very direct yet imagination on recorder 🪈 lets you loose and free and let you be you speaking through the recorder

Please do get comfortable with all 24 basic keys; check out my many scale videos and scale tips. Knowing the sounds and feelings of the various keys helps when you see them written down (and you should get comfortable with the way double flats and double sharps look and their equivalents. For example F double sharp looks like an x and sounds like a G! )
