Not a fan of metal feeders Just rust out. Waste of money. Go plastic and use heavy galvanized gates:panels if you can find them in reasonable distance. The arrow equip is nice stuff until it’s rusted out Just my opinion. Keep up the videos

@@Jsuds-kp3cj agreed. The rust is a downfall for sure.

Maybe fine for some operations, but I pick up 21 bales with the bale baron. Already a giant pain dealing with thousands and thousands of bundles, why make it worse with 14 bale bundles? 7 minute abs vs 6 minute abs Something About Mary

How many acres a hour on alfalfa? must be 12 to 16 per hr? And when you cut heavier grass hay how fast you cut?
@allstockhay7 ай бұрын
When cutting alfalfa I can avg 20 acres an hour without pushing it! I feel just because you can go fast doesn’t mean you have to. There’s a perfect speed between speed and getting a good crimp / conditioning to the hay crop. Depending on how thick the stand that is. Heavier grass I find fresh blades and 10 mph is about right.. In this cutter you can set the disc RPMs, so I like to slow that down a tish so you’re not blowing the grass over.. heavy or not!

when you turn the clean up bull in that soon after the ai, how do you know if the ai settled her or the clean up bull?
@allstockhay9 ай бұрын
Usually after 3-4 days the cows have settled and won’t come back into heat until their next cycle! But if it’s a close call and we’re thinking of keeping the heifer back we’ll blood test em’ Never to much of a worry being we cross breed anyway. But if it’s an angus on angus and they’re registrable. We can blood test. Great question!

From my experience customers prefer about a 45lb bale and really if you can get the same price for both why would you make a heavier bale?
@allstockhay10 ай бұрын
I hear it from my customers, the expense of the hay and price point is important. So I try to give them the most bang for their buck! Plus with the bundler we’re not handling them. Once they cut the bundle open and cut the bale open they’re just handling the flakes. I’ve had tremendous uptick in sales for my price point and weight. Especially when we’re shipping long distances the truckers and people paying shipping don’t wanna pay for lights loads.

What Ai simmental sire are you using to get baldies
@allstockhay10 ай бұрын
We used a bull by the name of “Cowboy Up” 529B out of select sires in 2019 to breed to Hereford cows. That’s who the father is to the big baldie cow #7 in the video. Otherwise we don’t use sim. Genetics a lot. I’m using L1 Hereford bulls on my commercial and registered angus to get the baldie calves.

Just curious why not NORDEN 15 bale and a tie grabber
@allstockhay10 ай бұрын
I had a KUHN AF4 when I started, which is now NORDEN. I used that for 3 years before finally upgrading. Became a lot of work picking up 4 bales then the next 4 to make an 8 pack. Then loading and storing and loading really dug into the bales. With the Arcusin D14 I went from 8-10k bales a year to 15-20k
