It sticks to everything. Even though your lungs might eventually break it down, this does not account for contact, spreading, and people who have become sensitive to it. The "mechanical" issue still exists and there are plenty of insulation alternatives, contrary to what some may say.

We are searching for a solution to our in slab duct repair issue. There appears to be areas which are deteriorating and the spray encapsulation, like Duct Armor, seems like a good solution. Anyone have experience or feedback on this method? Replacing what's in the slab does not appear to be an option, neither is installing split units or overhead duct work.

I'm sorry but insulation inside the duct system allows mold, mildew and dust particles to cling to the insulation and grow. I am a firm believer that the airway should be free and smooth to provide the best airflow and free of unwanted particles.

I wonder why there have been protests of insulation material. What are these individuals who want to protect the environment what they are suggesting for insulation? From research it looks like mineral wool/rockwool has better insulation properties than fiberglass wool. With any product there needs to be an awareness of health effects but what is the replacement for these insulation products. Currently wood fiber board insulation is not commonly available and very expensive and for the most part is made in Europe. Many of the polyiso and polystyrene products are combustible unlike mineral wool. Fiberglass has a tendency to not hold its insulating structure when it is wet whereas mineral wool repels water. It has been noted of videos containing protesters at Lowes and Home Depot over Mineral Wool products but again what are these protesters suggesting to replace current methods of insulation and how much oil and electricity will be used either heating or cooling homes which will lead to more air pollution if insulation products are not available.
