Is he speaking some pseudo-german in his song? I mean, for me, as a German, it does not sound yodeling or German neither. ^^ Anyways, great song, it makes me stump my feet :D

If he learned this in '33 , a better (younger) version may exist. Even with cracking voice, he pulled it off pretty well. I want to hear him 10 years earlier. I bet he nailed it then!

There was a mid-1960s show in which someone goofed and started Jo Ann's pre-recorded track while Welk was still standing by the piano talking to her. She giggled slightly and began her performance, while Welk just stood there looking foolish until he had sense enough to walk out of camera range. I loved the look on his face! All of America could see that her performance, like all the others on the show, was pre-recorded! The title of the song was "Bring Back the Hurdy Gurdy", I think.

Thankyou Blooze.Larry is fantstic. I listened to this song as a teenager over and over again. I am 49 years old now. I listened to this song whenever I got my heart broke. I don't like what country music has become today.

So great, my favorite female country singer by far, oh then let's just throw in Vince Gill on mandolin and save his incredible voice for the three part harmony, , , not sure who the others are but they too sound so nice. Thank you for this!
