Thank you for sharing these records from The Little Country Trio. My dad would be overjoyed to know people are still listening and being blessed.

It must of been amazing to be a part of all this. I found a copy of Almost Home and Lay Your Burdens At the Feet of Jesus in Terre Haute, Ind, about a year before I turned to the Lord and Repented. I was not then a Christian - I didn't come to the Lord through a church, or through peers. I can't help but to think the Lord was priming and guiding me with the help of these recordings and your family to draw closer to Him and Repent. He lets us KNOW He's Real, if only we would turn to Him! Praise be to the Lord!!!

@@JesusIsKingAndSavior l`m so happy you accepted Jesus. l have no doubt the Lord was using these recordings to bring you closer. Lay Your Burdens at The Feet of Jesus was their last album. l`m the little girl singing 'Mom and Daddy' on that album. Dad would be proud and honored that people are still being blessed.

The Little Country Trio consisted of Jessie Hutson (my father) Loman Jeffers (my great-uncle) and Norma Jeffers (my great aunt). They began singing and traveling to different churches in the mid 1960s. All three were born and raised in the mountains of East Tennessee and moved to Ohio. My dad wrote a few songs, one of which was recorded on this album----On The Cross Jesus Died. He also arranged songs on their 45 records. They recorded a total of five albums together before disbanding in 1984. My dad was a gifted musician who could play anything with strings. He taught many people to play, including Loman. Dad plays mandolin on their 45 records. His true talent is not captured in these recordings but I have cassette tapes that he recorded over the years and I cherish those. Anyone that was in church with them, can attest that the spirit of the Lord was with them. They didn`t sing and travel for fame or money, they did it for the glory of the Lord. My siblings and my cousins and I had unique childhoods; we traveled to different churches in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee and met some wonderful people over those years. My dad would be so thrilled to know that people are still being blessed by their songs. He passed away in 1991, Loman passed in 2016. Norma is still with us and still singing. When my husband passed away last year, The Angel of Death was one of the songs he requested to be played. Thank you for sharing!

It's so wonderful to hear from you! I (and I'm sure many others) would love to hear any stories or details you'd like to share about your grandparents and Curley! I don't know much about them apart from the few things that are online today. They played and sang great music, and I've enjoyed listening to their music and sharing it with friends many times since I learned about them. I have one more album of theirs (their first one) to upload when I get a chance. I'm still on the hunt for what I think was their last record, "God Walks the Dark Hills."
