a couple of pointers bro: Stop riding in the middle of the lane, lots of oil and debris there. When stopping, get more to the side of the vehicle in front of you. You're stopping right behind them, which will be bad if you get rear-ended.

Massive props on catching it, I have the same bike and with a full tank it's not light haha. It looked like you braked mid turn, I could be wrong but braking in slow speed turns with the tire not straight will bring it straight down. Friction zone, look through the turn and just keep a steady speed. Don't stress early on about staying in the cones, just improve your radius as you improve.

I've been at it a little over a year and have learned so much on the permit with good experienced godly riders. Just get with wholesome folk who know what they're doing. You'll emulate their good habits and find yourself as a rider. Just ride your own ride. If you feel off ..stay off. I have a z400 and your bike is really nice for a beginner like myself too. You'll be fine. Just stay safe. Keep it up! Who you ride with WILL determine what goes down when you're out there. Bad riding mates=a bad experience or worse.

Alot are commenting that you should look to where you want to go, based on your camera angle your head turns seemed pretty solid. As others have also commented the near drop was likely because your speed was a tad low for how far your bars were turned going in. Keep up the riding! My brother and I started riding about a month ago.

Most ppl can have a bike and never drop it, but for sum reason new riders are dumping their bikes in parking lots alone. I'd say they're doing it on purpose at this point because they're trying to force U-turns as tight as they can for absolutely no reason. NOT THAT iT MATTERS because roads are wide enough for cars, so you're really just wasting time and money practising pointless skills. But some people on KZbin are convincing new riders that theyre no "good/safe/real riders" unless they can fuc ass around in the drive way. As if there were some kind of checklist you have to hit in order to join the club. It's honesty sad because the only reason they push this narrative is because they're attempting to sell a training course no one needs, and they're doing it by targeting the fears and inhibitions new riders have. When in reality, if you just ride your bike and do things when you're ready and when the need arises, then you'll get it all the same. (If you know who, then you know who)

Bruh, you sound ignorant as all hell. And very bitter, troll like. The reason for the slow speed turning and u turns is because these drills give you experience in understanding how your two wheels feel and how the weight of the shifting vehicle is beneath you. And that is why they want to do such a tight u-turn at slow (8-15 mph, he was sometimes at 6 mph) as the only way is to learn how to lean and stay upright. it can then be used at faster speeds slowly to then gain the skill for quick reactions on the roads for say, an obstacle getting in your way suddenly (such as a run away dog or stray ball or even having to countersteer to avoid a unattentive automotive driver.

16:51 never use the front break when turning at low speed it makes the motorcycle tip and fall to the side very quickly, only use the rear break it will even help you do tighter turns when balanced with the clutch. good luck!

@dovaiS
@dovaiS 7 күн бұрын
@@TstatusTVYou are counter steering automatically if you can ride and lean the motorcycle. Don't think about it too much if you are going where you need to go. Just look where you want to go and don't hover the front brake, it looks like thats what caused you to drop here but I'm not too sure. Edit: To explain why is because if you use the front brake while your handle bars are turned at slow speeds you will likely dump it unless you catch it kind of like you did.
@IPREON
@IPREON 7 күн бұрын
@@TstatusTV yes edit: you initiate the "turn" with counter-steering to tip the bike, regardless of speed. In fact, you're going too slow for a slow speed maneuver. Once leaned, release the pressure from your hands so the bike can correct itself and the front wheel will point to the right direction without you forcing it. Hold the bars like you have two chicks in your hands. You should not have any pressure in your hands unless you're braking and your upper body should be weightless when controlling the bike. Yay!

Make sure you are looking at where you want to go. You mentioned it a couple of times but you are forgetting to do it when you are practicing your U-Turns. When you start of your U-Turn turn your head way over your left shoulder and focus on the exit of the box and not the cones. Target fixation... its a real thing. It will feel weird at first not looking what's in front of you but once you experience it you will notice how easy the turn is by feel. Other than that follow the advice given to you by @db7011. Keep up the good work. Regarding your bike not cranking after you laid it down, it should have a tilt sensor which requires you to cycle the key to clear it.

good start! for low speed turns, ride the friction zone and give a little throttle. Then let the clutch in and out a tiny bit to give power and pull you through the turn. Then combine that with dragging the rear brake and it'll feel much easier.

Msf courses are WAAAY overrated expensive and time consuming. Keep practicing and get about 600 miles of riding in and you will be fine. Social media has tons of resources for tips and tricks to operate a motorcycle. Also i would like to add go to your DMV and pick up a motorcycle operator handbook for your state. Read it cover to cover 10 times and occasionally reference it after rides. You will have your license in no time.❤👍👍

As an on and off rider for 17 years only do what you are comfortable with! Don't let other riders influence you. Don't. Thats how accidents happen. Only do what you know you are capable of doing with your own limits. My first ride ever I was on a 2005 hyabusa and it almost deterred me from riding period but I kept going. The other riders made fun of me for several years but I didn't care...still don't. I still don't peg my bike out I ride for the enjoyment not for the recklessness. Hope you have good rides and fall in love like I did.

One thing I forgot to add to the bullying that can be the bike community can be. One thing I have learned sadly and with an extremely heavy heart is that most of the people who made fun of me and tried to bully me didn't make it out of their 20's. They were scraped off the roadway. I don't say that to be non chalant but it's the truth. I'm 37 and there is only 3 of us left this day out of the 77 of us that rode. So my man please be cautious and drive for everyone on the road not just yourself. Especially also if you are riding with other bikers ride for them 2. Seen 4 die on the highway because they were being careless. Not trying to scare you just giving you the info. 2 wheels down and safe travels?!
