@@DungeonmasterMark You are welcome at my table anytime. Your focus is paying big dividends andI am sure you will be pleased with your competition performance. We are in the final Chapter in Call From The Deep, it’s been running strong for two years in a hardcore version of 5e. Should wrap in two months. After that I’m having my players run a one shot each and then I’ll start up a new campaign. Toying with running a Traveller campaign. I’m a little worn with how op 5e characters are at tenth level even in hardcore mode.

I like it but it could use a little polishing. It'd be a little better without so much wolf howling. Other varied dog sounds scattered about would be fine but the near-constant howling was very distracting Also I'd imagine that it's supposed to sound like we're in the middle of the camp. Maybe push the wilderness sounds down a bit while bringing the music and chatter into more of the forefront.

I never played this game, but as a young child in the 90's, this VHS was a freakin' STAPLE OF MY CHILDHOOD! THAT INTRO MONOLOGUE, THE CGI! I've talked about this for years and nobody knew what the hell I was talking about! THANK YOU!

This is really dumb. As someone who has dmed and played dnd a lot, and is studying to become a Pastor, this is really annoying to me. People will blame anything and everything they can so they dont have to admit that we just live in a sinful world, and that they too are sinful. After all they neglected thier child to the degree they didn't know about a game he was supposedly obsessed with. How could they possibly have known whether or not he had pre-existing mental health problems. How is that kind if neglect loving? Its not. Dnd was just another scapegoat to blame. Also 28 deaths over 5 years? Im no mathematician, but thats around 6 per year... Thats less then die via Coconuts, or cows. Granted those numbers may have been a bit different back thrn but the point remains, the number is low and thus far more likely to be a coincidence, where in reality these were people who were already disturbed, who happened to play dnd.

I introduced D&D to my Jr High school back then by having sessions during lunches. We drew crowds of onlookers as we made it a thing to do random room encounters (suitable to resolve during lunch) so there was always a 'monster of the day' and our mixed party rolled their dice to fight it. Before the following year hundreds of kids were playing it on their own. None of us killed ourselves.

I'm new to this and I notice when you're talking about price there is a dramatic swing. Can you still get minis at a low cost from a lot of these different sets and games? I know things overall are more expensive now and I don't want to waste money unnecessarily. I'm just starting out and only have five pre-painted wow figures so far.

These notions still exist. We've not moved on. Parents that choose to ignore mental distress, to turn blame on everyone but themselves, and to insist on the "truth" of their own fairy tales in their slavish adherence to a book written by bronze age goat herders that did not understand lightning and wanted to codify their subjugation of others are still with us.

@truth_tree

Keep in mind this was a period of strong cultural Christianity, meaning it was highly about appearances more than belief. So if they couldn't blame themselves right? Its not like they are sinners in need of a savior and thats what Christianity is all about right? Nah, it must be that game dnd's fault. Today Churches are really dividing into 3 categories. 1 based in rules and appearances like it was back then (legalists) they still act like this. another based in acceptance in everything so to grow their numbers and followers, losing all track of any sort of cohesive doctrine, and the 3rd based in faith and belief actually reading their bible caring what it says and not making up stupid things like dnd being some evil game satanic game. Back then though, the majority of so called Christians were the 1st. tldr: Back then lots of people just cared about appearances and thats why they were Christians and thats why they used scapegoats like dnd to blame.

Wait a minute. The parents said they didn’t know he was playing the game, but the daughter told them he was. Selective memory or total bullshit? And if I had a dime for every time my brother said he was going to kill me, I’d be a millionaire.
