Des Rocs is hard rocks next big thing. I saw him at asbury lanes in asbury park nj and he killed it. My wife isn’t into hard rock and she enjoyed it.

They need to open for Deftones sometime.
@40yearoldgamer257 ай бұрын
They’d definitely pull in some new fans for sure! I’ve loved Deftones ever since I 1st heard them around 06 and when I came across that Heroine album I was instantly hooked! Hate that I missed them when they came to Detroit, but Crosses was on the same night!

Exciting but tough place for the band to be in. Got started in a genre that is quite cork sniffer, cult following and then started to venture into a territory that has throwbacks to the previous 20 years of alt metal and heavy rock. This does not appear to settle well with the younger crowd of fans who seem to be quite possesive and narrow minded in what is acceptable within niche generes. That said, IMO, their new stuff seems to be a welcomed and worthy swing at trying solve the problem of there not being much exciting, respectable, and accepted heavy music these days, but it also does not appear to be helping them to gain a wider following, which therefore leaves them in a precarious no man's land on where to go from here with regards to their own personal interest and trying to balance that with the pressures of the commercial interests they also have to appease to a degree.

They should really look towards touring with Royal Blood or even possibly Chevelle or The Warning.

Hearing him talk about how the Dark Pool was written when they were 19, written and recorded in their bassists basement is crazy. That album was a #1 album for SO many people. Incredible album.
@frankvillatoro23317 ай бұрын
Definitely! I am 41 years old and listened to a lot of metal. During COVID lock down around 2020 one of their songs off The Dark Pool came on during Radio for some other band I was listening to, and it sounded so different! I discovered that album and just binged it for months. Truly a piece of art! I caught them twice live too.

Weird because their new music sounds more like other bands, though he said they tried make the music sound different. Darkpool was way more original

another album 'very very' soon?! i'm so excited!! i liked the viper room, but i'm SO excited for them to edge back into their heavier sound!! this is wonderful news, thank you for sharing the interview!
@Nickshreds8907 ай бұрын
I Love Darkpool and Heroine and very curious to hear what the 'heavier' sound will be. I remember reading one of the guitarists was inspired by the Contortionist album 'Clairvoiyant' , as I'm a huge Contortionist fan I was stoked to hear Dark Pool was influenced by one of my favourite bands! Not trying to compare them to anyone else though! Yes I can't wait to hear the new stuff. I saw them live in Australia this year and was not at all expecting the massive sound 😳! Jacob made some teradactyl scream noises I totally didn't expect and they are ridiculously tight for such a young band! I'm a guitarist and have a lot of respect for them all . Thank you for sharing the interview. Oh and good on you for keeping up the positive comments, it's sad to see all the negative people. So what if Thornhill experiment with their sound? It's a good thing for the music! Otherwise the art of making music would be boring without trying new things

Viper Room is great but so uninspiring, they went from Butterfly to Viper Room so fast, things turned ugly for them fast...............................

one single semi-lighter song and yall throw in the towel for thornhill so fast. like what you like, but viper room definitely told us who the fake fans are. don't let the door hit you on the way out, we're having fun in here! <3
