Ditto! Beginner bike yes, keeper, absolutely. I'm 68 years old and bought my '07 C50 4 years ago. It has been flawless. No, it does not have ABS or a 6th gear. But it's a perfect dad bike, because I am one :)

As an owner of a FI-operated VL800 2009 model (owned one since 2009 till 2020) and a carburetor-operated VL800 Volusia 2003 model (bought one last year and later gave it to my GF, when I bought myself a US-imported 2007 model of Boulevard C90T) I think I can safely state, that this bike is a true gem amongst cruisers. Here, in the EU, it was marketed as a "city cruiser" and though it looks really big and fat, it handles very easily and feels quite light to maneouvre without the engine. Its dry weight is around 240kg / 530lbs, curb weight is between 260kg / 570lbs and 265kg / 585lbs (both depending on year of production, of course). Periodic low cost service check & maintenance every 6000km / 3750mi keeps this bike ultra-reliable - I haven't had a single failure or even a problem ever - and not even heard about any issues from other VL800 / C50 riders. Its 45deg V-Twin liquid-cooled 805ccm engine (so hot summers are not an issue) on top of a quite short, 5-speed gearbox is ideal for riding in the city and cruising the countryside roads (as gearing up can be done at 20+ 30+ 40+ 50+ kmh, but immediate power at the turn of the throttle is still there until around 120kmh / 75mph). Yet, it is also perfectly capable of handling highways at speeds of over 140kmph / 85mph, fully loaded and with a passenger in the rear seat. The range of above 300km / 185mi is sufficient, with FI-operated models being slightly more fuel efficient. Also replacing metal parts with plastic ones on newer models made these lighter and thus even more economic to ride (btw therefore, since 2005 with FI introduction, the tank got shrunk from 17l / 4,5gal to 15,5l / 4,1gal). From experience I need to add, that even after 70000 km / 43500mi the engine was still in perfect condition and the clutch-plates were barely half-way through their life. What more could you ask for, from reliability and cost perspective? 🙂 Lastly - when I ocassionally park my heavy C90T and then re-saddle onto my GF's VL800, it feels like a bicycle to handle - but I haven't experienced any feelings of a 'downgrade' a la "weak, underpowered, slow", but more of those "lighter, nimbler, more friendly" ones. Enough said, I think. Ride hard & ride safe.

I have a 22 Road King Special. I don’t like the look of fairings and don’t want to be married to one. Not a peep out of Harley for the King’s 30th Anniversary this year. I am hoping they don’t scrap it but fear they will with everything going the performance fairing bagger/king of the bagger wannabe direction. The road king is one of the most iconic and classiest looking bikes HD has ever made and a shame it’s being forgotten. It is hard to justify it even more so now when for a couple K extra you can get the water cooled head 117 and all the other nice upgrades with a SG or RG. But there are still those of us who don’t want that crap but still want touring bike comfort, so I hope the King sticks around. If they keep them at current prices a lot of them will end up sitting in showrooms a long time.

I simply run a 60/100 H4 bulb in my stock Roadking housing. Compared it with my friends Harley LED lights on level ground on the side of a building at varying distances. No comparison. Mine pitched a beam vs the LEDs 'cloud'. Even more noticeable at distance. Main problem is people don't AIM their headlights correctly!

While I understand apologizing, you don't have to keep apologizing. Handle your business! Creating and then editing content is not easy and ALWAYS has uncontrollable factors involved. Keep on killing it!!! 9:00 - IMO I take the headlight out so often I don't bother to put Loctite on those four bolts. As long as they are snug tight you'll have no issues. The headlight looks fantastic!!!! I also see Jeffersonville on your shirt. Is that Jeffersonville, IN? My mother and mother-in-law live in Jeff. My brother lives in Jeff near Menard's by Veterans Parkway. My other brother lives in New Albany. Ride safe!!!

I just bought a Suzuki Boulevard C50T, 2005. It's my first bike. I am 5'2". I also have a 28" inseam and I love the comfort of the bike. I also have gel seats and cobra pipes on it. I am looking forward to getting out riding and see how it handles. Great video and I am happy to hear it's a recommended starter bike for some of us who would like a bigger bike. Cheers from Alberta, Canada 🍻🇨🇦

10:30 - Keep an eye on those turn signal indicators. I checked mine after an install and they flashed normally. Then, out on the ride, they flashed quickly. So the next time I was at a good stop point, I did the sync steps and it fixed it. I've heard nothing but great things about Forgotten Angels from The Badgers and Dez aka Wind Road Therapy. Great stuff!!!

The rubber brake lines can start coming apart on the inside and restrict the pressure from coming backwards. Which in turn keep your brakes on. I personally did not care for those taillights. That little ring of little round lights is not enough.

I love your videos. I live in Southern Indiana too and appreciate having a local to watch on KZbin. I’d love for you to do a video on how you make your videos such as the computer type and software you use to make and edit your videos. Also your preferred camera and microphone setup. I find that interesting but very few talk about the complete process to making their videos. Anyways, great video! Keep them coming!

I'm 47 years old and amputated my right leg in 2022. I got hit by a car in 2019. I've had many bikes before, like Harley's, Pan European, Vulcan etc. most of them big bikes. Now I wanted a smaller cruiser that I can reverse with easier and handle because of pain in my knees. So I picked up a 2006 M50 last year with only 6000 miles on it. I also wanted a bike that was low maintenance. So the M50 is perfect for me. Great for new and experienced riders.

At nearly 72 years of age, I can say without reservation that this is an outstanding motorcycle. Its size and looks remind me of some bigger Harleys. The weight is under 600 pounds, and the power is more than the average man or woman needs to have fun riding. Walking up on this bike looks way more significant than expected, especially since it's an 805 cc bike. Overall, this is a fantastic-looking riding motorcycle, and you don't need to apologize to anyone for it. By the way, I've owned a beautiful mother-of-pearl chromed to-the-gills Harley Roadking. Just ride!

Dirty Charlie With 55yrs riding at 70 yrs old I whole heartedly agree with ReallySanta. This bike is an excellent choice for any caliber of rider for most any reason. My wife and I bought a 2022 C50 while on a short vacation in July 2022 and I just love my C50😊 and so does my wife. It's as tough as a GA Pineknot and reliable. It was priced right and very comfortable to ride! I've added a batwing fairing and windshield, aftermarket pipes and a K&N Airfilter. It will go anywhere you want but I don't particularly like the Interstates though. The only thing I don't like is the Oil Window for checking the oil level. You just can't go wrong with this bike!!!
