Good explanation, though, for me, it depends on how much I value the brick over how important it is for whatever I am fixing to be solid, and how long I expect to need to use that fixing. If the fixing is needed for less than 20 years then drilling external bricks feels like vandalism, especially on an historic or an attractive wall. Internally, on a plastered wall, I would always go for the brick. Of course, if you want it really solid, then raking out the masonry joint and plugging the wall with a tapered piece of wood still takes some beating. That's the third option that hasn't been mentioned here. Done in the old days before powered drills, but still handy when the bricks are soft.

That is properly bodged. If you are using plastic stick to plastic pipe. The copper pipe expands and can’t flex, the plastic elbows and T’s if you flex them to far will leak. Been called out to many times to counts to fix stuff like this.

The _only_ time I ever drill through the mortar, is if I'm running a wire/cable (typically ethernet for POE usually for a doorbell camera). This helps reduce snags, and I backfill the hole with silicone anyway, mostly to keep bugs from getting behind the brick.

So this video is excellent but.....he said he was left-handed and today, a bunch of us "right-handed" people were hitting them into the ground and I turned the stake in the direction stated in this video and it moved the OTHER way...because....we right-handed people were hitting it exactly as he shows in the video. Maybe we're not properly using the sledge hammer but to all of us it felt normal hitting them "left-handed"; it felt very awkward if we switched hands. I was not building a fence; just 10ft 4x4 posts to hang things from so I wasn't totally di*k'd but it would have been nice if they were lined up a little better but not a huge deal. So just beware of that rotation AND what hands you are using to drive them in. This time around I used a massive iron wedge/pipe/post/???? to tap into the ground 3 ft to make sure there no big rocks. That massive iron post easily comes out of the ground and that was extremely helpful that we "tested" the desired locations first. I think a piece of rebar would work well too. You just make a little circle with the iron bar and it pops right out.

To be fair the easiest way to clean oil based paint out your brushes is simply don’t use it! 😂 Even stain block you can get in water based nowadays. As a professional I refuse to use oil based paint at all nowadays and I simply just throw the roller sleeves out once I’ve finished on the job. Brushes get bagged up and washed out every other day or every day if it’s summer, but it’s a quick 10 minute clean up because I’m only using water based and I’m not knocking myself out on fumes! 😂
