We install rainwater harvesting systems and fill valves to top off the ponds. Some people just fill manually with a garden hose.

Sorry for late response but it depends on the pond. A smaller pond or one that needs to be budget conscious certainly makes sense to install a skimmer. If it's affordable, intake bays are the better option, however, as long as they are installed by a Certified Aquascape Contractor.

The rock distributor overfilled the supersacks 1,000 lbs over capacity so we had to take it out by hand to move the other sacks into place with the excavator.
