I spend four months of the year sailing up the west coast of Scotland and at some point would like to go and see Julie perform. Her voice is so pure, Moran taing

Words are unnecessary and too small, there is no point in adding or supplementing - so strong and powerful pronunciation of the message. Everywhere: Hebrides, Vanuatu, France, China, Peru, Moldova, Niger, Alaska, Latvia, etc., etc. ...

Julie Fowlis: is it ok for us to learn and perform these songs in our community? I tried emailing through your website but I imagine you're so famous that it got lost!

I tried emailing her too once. I'm an author of historical fiction, and I want to put an English translation of Ann an Caolas Od Odrum in my latest novel. As far as my research has told me, the lyrics themselves are traditional and as such aren't copyrighted, but the arrangement might be a different story. With old music, the melody tends to be lost and the lyrics preserved. That said, unless you're making a ton of money off this, no one will mind you sharing this lovely song with your community.

This may sound a wee bit biased because I’m Half-Scottish and Half-Irish, but this sounds beautiful

I'm from Spain, and honestly Both Ireland and Scotland are the most beautiful countries in world, with an amazing culture that make everyone who listen to it dream.... Maybe I'm Exaggerating, but that's how I feel. Sometimes I think I'm Scottish in my heart and soul.
