While reflecting on this period of my life I remembered Philip and found this video. As a dancer new to NYC in the early 1980's Philip welcomed me and helped me feel safe--and I remain forever grateful for his kindness, patience, his genuine compassion. Thank you, Philip. Kindly, Steven

@@ChristineRockwell Christine. I knew Philip through the Martha Graham School. He was an exquisite dancer and a radiant human being. I think I will always grieve his death as I cherish his memory. And I do wish there was more footage of his wonderful dancing to share with the world, but just this excerpt is a treasure.

@@informedaboutsex Thank you for your comment. The very few people who I've been lucky enough to communicate with about Philip cherish him so much, which is bittersweet. What wonderful friends he must have had.

We are releasing music written for contemporary technique class - very suitable for Cunningham/Graham. So far there are 175 instrumental tracks arranged by count and tempo. See our channel for more info.

This is the basis for all current modern/lyrical/contemporary dancing! There are so many parts of this technique being lost and I truly feel that teachers and students alike should pay more respect for the history of dance and where we have evolved from.
