The moose knuckle lol Looking at this, It's quite obvious where Ice Cube got the idea for Barber Shop from. Look at the characters and similarities/ interactions . Corey needs to bring this organic-ness to podcast format

he actually used that jokyoku sample in the take me to your leader album too! i love both of those tracks so much

Still here after all these years, still love it just as much as I did then. Broke my heart when I heard his collection burned down in the fires.

Baby was produced by Madlib lol. It does sound like Dilla though

I don’t know, but somehow he sampled different records that have a similar vibe to what made MF DOOM unique. What I mean is that the samples he chose have that characteristic cartoonish, wacky, and, jazz feel. Producers might sample in a way similar to others, but DOOM made those samples uniquely his own.

isnt the story madlib got these beats from bootleggers and j dilla confronted him about it (my source is the interview with dilla thats here in youtube, in like 2003.) and then they decided to make an official project together hence the album they eventually made
@Nezel4720 күн бұрын
no, j rocc gave madlib the complete 2000 batch and madlib made this from the beats provided
@wm157319 күн бұрын
@Nezel47 yes coincidentally the story of this whole thing came to me after just a few days this comment since I'm reading Dilla time now. But Dilla did cuss him out for this tho 😂

Melvin Van peebles samples in 1975 (B.U. 25).. The Unseen in 2000.. Present Day in 2025 (A.U. 25). Only 25 years on either side of this album. Idk what the point of that is, time is just weird.
