I have several bins full of random screws that I add to any time I find them. I grabbed some out of there. Automotive trim screws with the beveled head should work.

Nice that you have a lathe :) It would have helped sort out the eccentricity of the outer surface of the cone to the pivot point for me kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHalin2sm7FjmJo My HF balancer did not work well enough for me. If you keep going with your balancer I think there is value to setting / shimming the post so it is vertical. Gave up on the HF as it had so many issues. I ended up going a different direction. Using a steel ball on a flat & level steel surface kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZjNf4JonNlmrsk and then later on kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZjNf4JonNlmrsk

So for an update. Grit magazine, (sister, publication of mother news) was seeking photos of items that had been made from repurposed other items. So I submitted a photo. They included it in their July August magazine, and for the privilege of using the photo sent me the tidy sum of $25. So other than tax involved that covered the cost of the Hinges and latch. Today was the day of the benefit auction. The gate sold for $100. Not bad for something that came out of the dumpster. And the big plus was I didn’t have to haul it back home. 😏

Update. So it’s been about a week and a half since I use this balancer to mount for 235/75R 15 six pi tires for my Dodge Dakota. I’m out of them on aluminum Dodge wheels using stick on weights. I’ve been driving in town country roads and doing interstate driving at 75. Tires seem to be fine.

Now, of course, any vehicle that’s 25 years old is going to have things that need replaced. Don’t think you can find one of these and just start driving it without any issues. One thing to look for is vacuum hoses. There was one in particular that’s only about an inch and a half long on this vehicle that looked like the outside of a burnt marshmallow. I touched it, and it immediately fell in two pieces with a sucking sound from the vacuum of the engine. So I have several feet of a couple different sizes of vacuum line that I am replacing tonight. Also heater/AC controls on old vehicles like this are vacuum operated. It doesn’t matter if it’s been kept in a garage out of the sun. You will probably need to replace some of those lines eventually. But all in all, it’s a pretty slick vehicle.

Update. It’s now Saturday. I received the reman alternator at the post office and will be installing it today. In the meantime, the redneck rebuild held up perfectly.

I forgot to point out that all the voltage readings were taken at idle RPM. At cruising speed according to the dash gauge the alternator puts out over 14 V.

It’s possible, but I’ve had other people comment they’ve had the same problem with the electrical wiring rubbing on the tire to the point where it actually cut through the wiring. So it appears to be an issue with more than just the unit I received. I also found issues with the blade assembly housings at a later date that’s posted in another video. I was able to send photos and the company sent me replacements. Then I sent back the defective units so they could claim them as defects against the supplier. Basically this video was to point out that people need to carefully inspect the actual unit they are taking home with them because the test unit looked and worked fine.

Yep, I got the 'new' leather seats a few hours ago, 2 bolts in front, 2 on each corner in the back. Initially I thought the Durango seats would be slightly wider, comparing the center console in the Durango to the middle seat of the dakota. A quick measurement and it seems they're both just short or 21 inches wide. Will be starting the swap this weekend. I also got the full length center console out of the Durango....that will probably take some ingenuity, but shouldn't be too awful.
@Daytona-fr7fx
@Daytona-fr7fx 5 ай бұрын
The bolts you mentioned that take the torx bit, do those hold the seat frame to the track? I ask because we just bought a '99 Dakota sport, with cloth "bench" seat, and I'd like to swap the seat for leather "bucket" seats and center console from a '00 Durango slt. The Dakota is manual track, and the Durango seats are power, I'd like to keep the manual track...i know i will have to separate the frame for the middle bench seat/armrest. I'm doing my 'homework' so to speak, trying to gather information to figure out the best way to do the swap.

Can I ask why you are replacing it because the gf's 05 just looses all throttle several times on a trip to town. It idles but won't respond when pressing gas pedal.

After starting and driving the vehicle for approximately 10 miles, sometimes after stopping at a light and trying to accelerate, the engine falls on its face. I used a code scanner to see if there were any codes and the only one that came up, suggested a fault with either the accelerator pedal or the throttle body. I replaced both of them. The problem still exist though. I found if it happens, I can let off the accelerator pedal completely, and then immediately push it again, but more slowly and the engine responds.

So an update to my situation that may answer your question further. My Pathfinder got to running worse and started showing multiple cylinder misfire. It got to the point where it was basically undrivable last week. When this has happened in the past, it was either faulty, fuel injectors, or low fuel pressure from the fuel pump. I checked the pressure on the fuel pump, and it was running at 49 psi. While I was messing with that I replaced the crank position sensor with a new Nissan one that I had ordered, but had not installed yet. That was Friday. It’s now Monday and I’ve been driving a vehicle without any of the described issues. (It still has a slight miss, but I also replaced one of the ignition coils with an older one, so that doesn’t concern me.) You might check that. It’s located on the passenger side of the engine near the back and you can access it from the front passenger wheel. Well if you remove the tire. You’ll need a 10 mm socket and a long extension. I suggest using quarter inch drive because there’s not a lot of room in there to work. I also find it easier to remove the sensor and then unplug the wiring from it. Hope that helps.

So, why don’t you take your first video down?
@blue68chevelle
@blue68chevelle 8 ай бұрын
Why would I? The first video shows a bunch of issues with a brand new item that should have been caught in production, should’ve also been caught by the dealer. It’s an informative video to let other people know they need to check out their items as soon as they get them and not only the display model, but the one they actually leave with. If you do find issues with your item address it with the company and see what actions they are willing to take.

The words on the screen block what you’re doing
@blue68chevelle
@blue68chevelle 8 ай бұрын
Yes, I have that same complaint a lot of the time. That is the way KZbin shows you on a phone or tablet. If you watch it on a TV none of that is on the screen. So basically, you find an awl or another pointed screwdriver, put that in the hole in the snap ring. You pry outwards from the shaft with that tool. The problem is it likes to slip off. So then you take a small flat screwdriver or other tool and pry upward on the snap ring, as you are prying outward with the pointed tool. that works it up out of the retaining groove kind of like taking a tire off of a rim. And then you just work the snapring around the shaft until it comes off.
