Why did they remove the oil cooler on this model? Won't that be an issue in warmer states like CA, NM, AZ, etc.?

That seems to be the consensuses on the issue. Not sure how getting rid of the oil cooler is beneficial for most riders. But apparently all the changes that came with this model were meant to attract a younger entry-level consumer. Steve H.

MyGarageToyz Yeah, I've been hearing that "younger entry-level consumer" reason for a while now on certain bikes. I personally don't see an $18k bike with this much power being entry-level but I do understand the idea that younger riders would like the looks. Hell, I'm 47 and have been riding since 1992 and I love the look of this. Just wish they didn't pull off something as essential as an oil cooler to save a tad of weight.

Very well said! Steve H.. The Dark Horse is damn good looking and mostly why I think riders are considering it. Really if their looking to get entry level buyers the Scout is good enough. Doesn't really make sense to down grade a Chief.
