I get the feeling the director wanted to do another movie but found himself instead having to work on this one, and didn't like it. So he "made it his own" and did whatever the heck he watned, because he knows the fans are dumb as broken machetes. The producer must have not cared one way or the other to let this travesty come to be.

I've seen it more than a dozen times and each time I've watched it I've seen something I didn't catch the previous times, either a wink, a smirk, or something or some in the shadow or in the background, truly an amazing film. I remember seeing it on TV as a kid and thought it was boring and then saw it again in my mid-late teens and I loved it and couldn't wait to see it again. I suppose at that age I was able to get the gist of the innuendo and such.✨ Now it's firmly in my top ten movies of all time.

The head through the window glass thing also happens ib Deep Red, in the first death scene. Argento loves murders at windows

Hey Dino I thought I'd take the opportunity to provide clarification as to why some of us may see similarity between this episode and Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman, which you brushed aside rather quickly. The similarity is NOT in the construction of the creature that is the star of the episode and the series (although I think it may be unclear to some whether some parts of RING may be organic, especially with the phrase ganglia, but that's beside the point). The similarity is in the framing of the reveal. The face they use, the camera angle and shot, are very close if not dead on to how some scenes in SMDM and BW were shot. I noticed this right away as a kid since I watch both series all the time. If you have not seen them (especially in episodes where they used evil robots or androids/cyborgs etc) then this similarity would have been lost and you'd naturally go to the obvious, which I don't believe was the point of the comment. I could be wrong, but having watched those series, that reveal and the cheesy face fx would have been spot on with some SMDM episodes. Anyway, looking forward to more Kolchak and Outer Limits!
