My little boys and I were so excited to meet one this evening and get it to safety off the road. Their father loves snakes, so came to join us and happily identified it as a king snake. We are happy to have him around, and enjoyed learning from your recording 👍.

I got a baby het tiger albino reticulated python and when I got her, I noticed her tongue was bent down towards the end it doesn't seem to affect her and I have had her for three months and she seems fine, but do you know why her tongue might be bent?

Steve, I love your content man. So straight forward and real and honest. I hope you're doing well. I miss videos from you. I can't agree enough that knowledge and experience erases fear. I suffer from PTSD and anxiety and working with my snakes has helped me to be more present and not overthink things. Truly amazing and inspiring animals.

My ball python female is driving me insane with the squeaky noises from rubbing against the glass ALLL NIGHT until 8-9am.. 3 sides blacked out, temps good, she has been fine for almost a year and now this past month she’s been a ffff menace. I keep putting her in her travel tank overnight inside her enclosure after my dogs waking up every 5 mins all night and barking from hearing sounds from her squeaking herself against the glass. I found her in a neighbors patio… don’t know where she came from but if this doesn’t stop she needs to go. I have too many pets she’s distressing. I’ll try to move her to another room away from the male and that’s my last resort! I love her I do, she’s a very docile chill snake normally.. but I didn’t buy or bring her home I saved her from the cold and a crazy lady with a broom😂 thanks for all the info!

You're wrong about your husbandry snakes especially Retics do need vents in their enclosures. Class is over

I love all of the feedback on this channel. the advice can be applied to other types of snakes as well. Ive owned boas for many years and this channel always kept inspriring me to get a reticulated python. Im now looking into getting my first and cannot wait!

I have a question, hopefully you can help... I got my first ever ball python (first reptile ever), I'm new to all this. I got a normal BP. Don't know the age. I've picked her up twice now... second time I picked her up I realized she was in blue and placed her back. She shed finally. She's been a great eater ever since I got her. She only refused a meal one time. I was feeding her large mice. Last week I fed her on Sunday, along with my albino BP. (I got addicted and have 3 now) 😂 But I fed her on Sunday, then Wednesday night she was out of her hide when I went in to check on humidity levels and shut the lights off, she was in the striking position, looking at the top of the tank (this is where I feed her from, then when I want to clean the tank or anything I open the front doors) she started striking at me through the glass anytime I would move or anything. She even struck at the ceramic heat emitter when I switched it on. I figured she needs a bigger sized prey item so I went ahead and fed her again (she's far from overweight, I got her from Petco. before I knew how horrible it was to buy from them), so I decided to feed her a fuzzy rat, slightly bigger than what she had been eating. She took it immediately, I assumed it would satisfy her. The next morning she was again at the edge of her hide waiting, came out and was again going towards the top of the tank awaiting food. I didn’t feed her again until last night (Sunday) and I gave her a weaned rat this time, she got it down no problem, it was the same width about as her body. I was sure she must be satisfied after that huge meal. Nope, this morning shes back to immediately wanting to be fed. My question is, I wasnt able to handle her the first week and a half while letting her acclimate to her new home, then I fed her and couldn’t handle her so she could digest..... then I held her once for about 5 minutes trying not to stress her out since I know they don't get handled a lot at Petco. The second time I held her I couldn’t do much and had to put her back because I noticed she was shedding (she never got defensive when I picked her up) but now I'm afraid of how to handle her if she's constantly going to be in feeding mode. How can I make sure she knows I won't be feeding her? Does the hook thing work even if you haven't done it before? And also, why on earth would she be acting like she's starving all the time? She has grown a lot since I got her, like tripled in size almost. I just don't understand why she's seeming to be hungry non-stop. Any advice at all would be helpful. Thank you. Because I really need to be able to get her out and handle her more so she understands that I'm not only there to give her food. But Im afraid to handle her if I know she's going to strike as soon as she gets a heat signature off of me.

I own one ball python and one common boa. Both of them live in their hide prob 24/7 and they have 40 gallons. The boa is not quite 4 feet and she will get an upgrade, but even she shoves her entire body in her hide because she likes it and that is what makes her feel comfortable.

I've been wanting a Herpstat 2 so I can use a deep heat projector. I have a Rosy Boa and she likes to hide, she has 3 hides she uses regularly on her hot side which is 86-89 depending on the area... but I can't shake the feeling she'd be happier and healthier with a Herpstat 2 and dhp. The thing is I would really like wireless controls, I want to monitor and adjust the thermostat through my phone. The Herpstat 2, even 2 years after this video's posting, is really the only option.

Good down to earth real advice. Snakes love to hide man. I always give them room but 9/10 times they are in ther hides. I had a king snake that never used hides but every othe snake loved thier hides. Dont feel pressured into putting your snake in a massive enclosure.

PVC to get heat from a pad, just measure out the size of your heat pad and drill holes where it's going to be at and sand both sides, then optional you can put a liner in the bottom and add your substrate on top. That's what I recommend and I have a 8.5 inch heat lamp with ceramic bulb and a dimmer switch. I keep it aimed toward my snakes about in the middle. My temps stay around 88 on the hot side and 78 on the cool side. I use 3 digital hygrometers two at the bottom right near the substrate on each side and one dead center at the top part. My humidity stays around 60-70% unless shedding is starting and I keep it around 80%. Oh pvc enclosures have screen on top so I used plexiglass to cover up portions to keep my humidity top notch!
