How well does it work as a stand alone GPS module? It would be nice if i could just replace my current module with this and be compliant.

This video just shows just to verify your RC is communicating with your drone. This should already be checked when calibrated your RC stepping process. This really didn’t explain why your motors aren’t spinning. Like a failsafe is telling the drone not ti fly because it could be it’s telling the drone don’t fly. Or even check the parameters there more than one reason I think this video wasn’t helpful.

I bought one of these when they first came out,it was the PNP version,so there was not much buiilding, mostly final assembly.I added the slat/flap servos and the kit for them.I also bought and installed the Eagle Tree Vector flight controller.I did a custom paint job n the fuse and was going to try too fly it shorter range FPV.Before I could fly it I suffered a stroke,so I sold it.I was hoping to add a DragonLink to fly it longer range. When I bought t,it was on sale and the price was really cheap.I got it for around $300,and with the flap/slats added and the Vector, camera and vtx had less than $800 in it.Prices in 2017 were much better, and buying things on sale from RMRC and Get FPV was really great.I did make one mistake assembling it,I crossed two wires for the rudder/elevators and the elevators worked ok,but the rudders were not working right.I found the problem fast and it was working right.I really wanted to fly that.

Dumb, if you loose connectivity with your phone, how are the authorities to know where the device is or has been. Your broadcasting from the drones device, to the phone, to the app site where the flight is recorded. A great way for a man in the middle attack. This would be fun sticking one of these on your ex wives car, to track who she's seeing on the side.

You did what I did. I got a few BS when they were half price. I have one wired similar to what you did with. 3.7 lipo battery and heatshrinked them inside a 1 inch diameter tube. Velcroed it to my Mavic Pro. 17 grams. Have taken several flights. If I mount it on top of the Mavic I get 700 feet BT range. If I mount it in the back near the rear LED I was able to get 1600 feet. Range also depends on smartphone and app being used. I could point my smartphone in the right direction I could get the signal back. DroneScanner app works fine with the BS.

@@theflyingsandalrcUnless you were to do something so egregious as to result in being charged with a much more serious offense while **also** not equipped with RID, you never will. Failure to comply with RID requirements will **never** be the primary charge in any case. The FAA has stated this from the very beginning. The purpose of RID is to facilitate enforcement of FARs, period.
