As a former freight train rider the whole point of this is losing yourself and finding your way back. It’s more like a survival situation. And learning your ways and study the whole places you’ve gone that’s how you start learning the rules of the road is by trying new places and learn what’s westbound southbound northbound eastbound. If you were in the military, or served in active duty you might stand a chance against some tough Judge in Ohio from sending all the ordinary people train hoppers to 2 years in Castaway

You gotta know your well cars before you want to jump on, most of them don’t have a floor and it’s unridable. Covered hoppers are the best to ride

An old rail rider once told me you have to be able to count those bolt heads on the wheel to jump on.
