Today I held a mid-sized white laundry basket over my head as a helmet being silly, and one of the Labrador dogs that I'd just met that day (who had drowned as a pup + been revived and was now 5yo), reacted with trepidation and walked off quietly in uncertainty, where up until then he had been ok approaching me. I've been learning about tbi, dementia, disability for various reasons in the past year. It was behaviour that I sense as an example of what TG talks about.

This person sounds like the Richard Feynman of animals. Seriously. Go listen to Feynman then listen to her.

Exactly, not only genes are linked, but breeders don't learn about how de calculate a linked between two genes, it not is that hard, and don't know about crossing over, translation part of chromosome it's a pity and it's why so mistakes are made... Thanks or that, frome France.... really!

I noticed the Eclipse Shadows. There are two types of people when it comes to Eclipses. Those who don't think they are anything special because they happen fairly frequently and those who have experienced a full eclipse at an ideal vantage point.

I cannot tell you how frustrated I would get with teachers when I was a kid. They would be rattling off information and I would have to stop listening to process it. Some concepts would be in words and some in pictures. In the meantime they would continuing teaching. I would catch the first part of the lesson the last part but miss the middle because I was trying to process. Then I would get a report card saying “daydreams too much”, and I would get punished by my parents. I was thinking! It was only after becoming an adult that I understood what was going on. If the adults in my life had paid attention, or asked they would have known.

I have never been diagnosed with any form of autism or dyslexia or such. But I’m 65 and they didn’t test for things like that back then. I had a third grade teacher tell my parents that I was “retarded” . She said I sat quietly at my desk and did as I was told, apparently that was not normal. I suspect I may have a mild autism going on, a bit OCD, and I’m definitely dyslexic. My children are both dyslexic, tested, and my youngest son probably has some mild autism. All have higher IQs. It’s awful what some schools put you through if you have these issues. Often children are just placed in remedial classes.

Grandin, what do you think of the Trust Technique program? Personally I think it is a wonderful thing. Anything that makes people understand that fear based training is not only ethically wrong,it is not efficient or effective in the long run, has got to be a good thing.

Is she the one that came up with curved cattle chutes for unloading bull haulers at stockyards instead of banging on the side of the cattle trailer? I remember reading about that after I had an epileptic episode where, as I came out of it,, felt how animals must think.

I noticed the eclipse shadows. They were fascinating. But a lot of of my thinking is visual and my dreams - well, if I could write them down I’d be as rich as Steven King! Ms. Grand in is superb. And thanks to her, so many animals have been helped.

Been around horses since I was a baby and it was the best thing in the world. I suck at math, never cared about it. But I could read a horse better than anyone, and not just horses, all kinds of animals, including the lizards that lived on our porch. Just being there and observing, that's what matters.

My dog, Pom, spent 4 years in Amish mill, and then spca. She was afraid of the kitchen floor and ceiling fans, thunder, and firecrackers. I put a carpet strip down and she was fine, but the fan took a while. Once while walking she ran from a church bell gong.

How do you stroke a horse's withers when you're riding? She may have been referring to the shoulders.
