Funny thing is when you get to college more than half of your professors will actually PREFER to be called by their first names….

It seems weird to me that this is unusual. The high school I went to, all of the teachers were referred to by their first names.

imagine going to college for a mid to high level degree, further training for years to be a teacher, and learning to effectively understand and guide young people to learn and further themselves in life, and STILL being so stuck up your own ass that your very name elicits a fight or flight response.

I get that it's a respect thing...but seems weird to get mad at students if they slip up and call you by your first name sometimes. You're teachers not overlords

You can literally tell by each teacher's facial expression, even before their name's called, how they'll react.

Teachers are typically referred to as Mr or Mrs/Ms + last name. It's seen as polite & shows their authority as well as job title. This is from Kindergarten to high school. Typically in a daycare or early childhood facility, children refer to teachers as Mr or Mrs/Ms + first name. College level, professor like first name basis. I don't know if it's like that for all colleges though.

During my freshman year (in the spring actually a couple months after this was released, this video inspired me) I called a few staff members by their first names. This will be kind of long -I asked my English teacher a question about a field trip. I said “okay thanks Kristen!” She raised her eyebrows and was like “WHAT?” We all started laughing. -I said “What’s up Brian” to my health teacher. He’s just like “who’s Brian” In a joking way -Said “Hi Kerry!” To my PE teacher. She just told me “don’t call me by my first name please.” -I said “Hi Shellee!!!” To my friends math teacher. She got PISSED. She almost told the administrator in charge of my grade level but didn’t. -Sophomore year I was asking my drivers Ed teacher a question. I said “thanks Laurie!” She’s like “I guess you don’t want your license” in a joking manner. -I said “Hi Chris” to my social studies teacher sophomore year and he’s just like 😳😳 “WHY?!?!” We we’re all laughing so hard. He then tells us why that’s bad.

Without Jesus and holiness no man will see God. No Muslim is holy No Buddhist is holy No religion leads to true holiness. It is only found in a relationship with Jesus Christ! You don’t have religion with your parents do you? Neither do I with my God. He’s real and wants to know you! He will send you to hell if you continue to be a child of the devil. How do you know you are a child of Satan? You commit sin! The bible says he who sins is of the devil! 1 John 3:8-9 KJV [8] He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. [9] Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. Cry out to God in humility and watch him change your life. Start to obey Jesus and follow him.

I usually call them by the first or second name, idc. It depends on which one I like more or which one is less confusing (I can't call you William because there's 2 Williams in the school for example) I think I had only been able to get away with it because english is not my first language (Even though I am fluent), also because MA is a lot more open to using the first name (some teachers prefer it, not all). I take advantage that they don't tell me what they want to be called, or missed it
