I know this video was posted years ago, but I want to remind people to ALWAYS brush from bottom up not from the top to bottom. You can damage the wig brushing from top to bottom.. brush it like you would your hair bottom to top.

So I just got a synthetic wig off of Amazon. It's my first wig. Do I need to wash it and stuff?

It's been a few years since I've gone to any conventions and my sis which were styled have been tossed around quite a bit in the meantime. They were looking pretty crusty and ratty. Since I'm in the process of making extra wefts for various parts of certain wigs (the ones I would wear often and which were at one point heavily styled) I'm going through and giving the wigs a good wash and brush. Since most of them are cheap synthetic wigs from conventions, whenever I use a heat tool on them (bent fibers from tangles don't look great, but trying to keep length) I do little test spots where it isn't obvious. I do keep it to a low heat just out of precaution. But they are looking much better. Lol.

I had an experience like the beggar once, it was not at a con but several years back mom and i had won tickets for an early access to the star wars rogue one movie. As we waited outside it got cold and dummy me didn't bring a sweater DX Seeing it was at a outside mall i had to take the time to head to the shops and found an old navy but on the way a man was asking for donations and i simply said i had nothing on me, only the money i was given to find a jacket. Well i buy one (old navy expensive as HECK) and as i did not know the area i had to walk past the man again who OF COURSE then proceeds to point out i could buy a fancy jacket and guilt tripped me into giving my last few cents.. I honestly actually felt threatened.

I had a similar situation with a homeless man at Anime NYC. I was at the train station waiting to meet up with someone who I was selling my extra badge to. The homeless man asked me for money. I turn him down and he leaves. I finally meet up with the person and she gives me the cash for the badge. The guy comes up again and he sees that I have cash and he’s screeching at me, cursing me out and shit because I won’t give him the money. I tell him off as he walks away…in like 5 different directions 😅

Does it have to dry on a towel or can I place my wig on a simple plastic frame stand. It's a cheap one from Amazon that has no solid head but just a frame so air can flow freely through it.
