That's really not a Briggs clone. Looks like a Powermore engine, Made in China for MTD. which that craftsman is made by MTD.

When I said Briggs clone, I meant Briggs like! It is similar to the OHV Briggs single cylinder

I "resotored" a Toro AWD one, it has a smaller engine I believe, but it works much better than an only RWD or FWD mower on steep hills. I got it from someone who had stripped a lot of parts and essentially made it a push mower for whatever very odd reason. I put way too much into it, but in the end it ran and drove as intended again for a family member.

I changed the oil, air filter, spark plug, and sharpened the blade prior to selling it! I didn't think it was interesting enough to include in the video.

Hopefully you put a Briggs and Stratton carburetor on this poulan pro mower i was given a craftsman ys mower that was in some what great shape but the Nikki carburetor had to go even my poulan XT mower has a Briggs and Stratton carburetor on it although i had gas in the crank case now every time I use either of them i shut the fuel shut off valve and let the engine run out of gas so it won't be flooding the oil with gas

I did replace the nikki carb, it was flooding the engine and the solenoid on the bottom was stuck! After draining the oil contaminated with gas and replacing it with fresh it was good as new!

You got extremely lucky on this one. I repaired one just like this for a customer. They needed the pulley assembly for the belt to go front and rear. Had to remove front gear box to get belt off. What a pain that was. The pulley assembly was close to $100. Very difficult repair. Narration better because of explanations.

@@philliphall5198 the more on it. The more that can break. I use a those clamps you squeeze and put it on bail handle so It stays running and don’t have to squeeze it.

That's what I couldn't understand. I got it for free because it wouldn't self propel and it was hard to push, so someone at some point had to put rocks in there!
