I just want to clean the cooling fan and the heat sink. Today, I loosened all the screws at the bottom and knowing that it is going to be a complicated process just to access the cooling fan and heat sink, I turned all the screws back before even thinking about removing the disc drive and keyboard. Anything can go wrong, so what I did, is I blew air into the heat sink and sucked the dirt through the cooling fan slots. Then I repeated this process just the other way around. There was some dirt, but not a lot. I don't know why the cooling fan cannot be cleaned, by means of the removal of a simple cover. This would make it a lot easier to access then. I also have the service manual, but I am not going to take that chance. Temperatures were normal before and normal after the blow and suck. Also, when I purchased my laptop, it was placed straight onto a cooling pad anyways. This I also gave a good clean and it is operating normal.

I have this laptop for over 10 years now, after many modifications the heat sink is heating up so badly it's almost 100 degrees. I do not know how to access cooling system to clean out it's get-away air system. There must be so much dirt that not even air comes out. What should i do?
@MagnusPaul19764 күн бұрын
@@coolguy-bs3sk You have two options... 1. If you have the knowledge, you can disassemble the laptop, right up to where you can see the heat sink and the cooling fan ... But only up to there, then reassemble after cleaning. You can also use the Service Manual to guide you through the necessary steps to access these. 2. Take it to an accredited laptop technician, that specializes in Acer laptops, especially. This is my only advice and I hope it helps you to sort out your laptop. Just for reference... My laptop happily idles well under 35°C and never exceeds 45°C. I only have the necessary instances running in the back round, from startup to shutdown.

Check if the laptop battery is charging at all. If the laptop is charging the battery, it may indicate battery damage. It is still possible that the battery will become fully operational after a few cycles.

Thanks for this video. I could successfully replace my broken LCD with one that I bought from Aliexpress. I was afraid of problems with the hinge, for example breaking it, or not bringing the new LCD back in. I watched a few other videos but none showed how that goes. Your video shows that the hinges are screwable which solved my fears beforehand. Great.

This keyboard seems like a nightmare to repair. Almost sent back the replacement I ordered for the client, but the palm rests are very expensive (for a good reason I guess). Thanks for the video, removing the plastic tabs and will attempt a double-sided 1mm tape and report back in a few days. Pozdrawiam ;)

@magicy.it_usugi_informatyczne6 ай бұрын
The laptop was returned to the customer, so I have no way of checking it, but I read somewhere that someone managed to install an i7 2620M processor, and apparently it is even possible to add a more powerful one, but it would probably require changing the power supply to a more powerful one.

Unfortunately it does look like you need to disassemble the entire laptop to reach the CPU... Making changing the thermal paste very difficult... Which I need to do in the future due to the high temps...

Hi, is there a video too disassemble the keyboard?
@magicy.it_usugi_informatyczne7 ай бұрын
In this model, the motherboard is screwed to the bottom of the keyboard integrated into the upper housing. To replace the keyboard itself, you need to unscrew the motherboard, cut out the old one and glue the new keyboard. Quite a difficult task. You can see how to do it in my other video and even though it's a different laptop model, the method is the same: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h2mTnZxpmr55gLcsi=wlY75CbVlT_g2I8T&t=215

Greetings; Could you help me with any tips? I have a Toshiba A660-042 with core i7 740qm, and I always had problems with booting. I replaced the HD with an SSD and I can't install an operating system like Linux, Windows, neither with a pendrive nor with a DVD, when the installation starts, it takes about 7 seconds and the cooler speeds up a lot and turns off the notebook. I can't even use a Linux live CD because in the middle of booting the CD the cooler speeds up a lot and turns off the notebook. What could this problem be? Thank you for your attention.
