You most definitely can with used caps. I find the oem roland solution to be most effective.

That cyan is a nitemare. I don't recommend using a syringe on them heads as it can mess up them dampers.

@reprint217 Is there anything else you can suggest I do to try and get the nozzles back, before I have to replace the head? I've been trying to get my hands on a service manual so I can change out the head myself. But I was told that without PECK code, I wouldn't be able to do the service on it myself. Im guessing that something only Techs have access to.

@@reprint217 I figured it out. The head wasn’t pushed flat. I had to use a little more force than I expected. Once in position correctly, everything works as it should. Thanks for the help!

Depends on if it's plugged in cleaning. Too many variables

Water went into my motherboard so I had to buy another one during that time the printer was off but I always poured the cleaning solution every week or 2 can it go more than a year a still print again once my mother board is sorted.

@reprint217 Yes, I got it thankyou..the only problem I have now is a message that says head protection activated when I turn the printer on. It pauses on each pass when printing, but if i print in service mode, it prints fine..im.hoping it's because I am using digiprint ink

Try removing battery if it's resetting back that usually means your not in technician mode

Usually have to let sit for a bit and try again

When I’m doing a clean..I don’t see the flag is moving for yellow ink. (The flag that supposed to move in and out when it pumps the ink in. I’m pretty sure there is nothing wrong with the print heat. I had it very good just 3 days ago. All lines are perfect. Because I rang out of yellow ink the other day..so I cut my yellow ink bag and refilled it with the left over I had. My yellow on the left is gone now. But the second yellow is still working. Still printing cos my printer print setting CYMK 4 color with 8 ink bags using 2C 2Y 2M 2K. How do I get the flag to move again. I think you call them “arm”

Please steer clear of this method on the dx7. I only recommend as a last resort with any epson head. Pressure will likely cause the nozzle plate to come loose

They most definitely do go bad, not as often as other parts but have replaced dozens of them.

@@reprint217 OK - thanks for the feedback Mike. It seems I'm replacing captops on my vs 540 every 3 months - and even when I replace them it's hard to get a full nozzle print again - I've tried and tried to adjust the cap top placement on the head - it doesn't seem to do much. My ink pump still pulls ink - but I'm thinking it might be weak and contributing to my excessive cap top replacements. My machine is 13 years old - and in great shape. I might look into replacing the pump. The captops are getting expensive. I've never used aftermarket parts or inks.

Have you pulled your lines from the ink needle? Possibly the needles are clogged in the cartridge bay

Also, I have had machines with the choke valve bypassed, have seen this many times and be very careful when messing with the head. I choked one off and assumed it was choked and destroyed a brand new head.

On the Truevis units with the power off, push carriage to the right to unlock head carriage

I see them all over anymore, and I personally would have to pass. The dx7 isn't a good head for dtf and likely would have to replace one every year. Plus, the machine is way to slow. I'm not even sure if I would fix it, if was given to me for free.

Usually a rinse and repeat process of soaks. Or now that it is mostly broke loose, gently syringe the head

@@reprint217 can I pull with the syringe on top of the head (where the dampers sit) while there is solvent in the captops? Or would you just push?
