Nicely done, Elliot, and thank you the details of the main anchorage points for Catalina Island. I’ll be coming down from San Francisco In August on board SV Glorious, my Westsail 32, with planned stops in Morro Bay, Channel Islands, and Catalina, before Newport Beach, San Diego and ultimately the long passage to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Your video is beautifully filmed and musically backed up. And you have a fine boat in your Flicka. Where are you home ported? Sailing on SV Glorious is my channel. Fair winds, young man!

Aron…I’m presently anchored at San Simeon Anchorage and will be going to Morro Bay tomorrow for a few days and I’ll eventually be coming to Catalina probably sometime in September. And also the Newport Beach area. Let me know if you like to meet up..? I’m traveling with three other cruisers all headed to Mexico in November…I’ve shared your Catalina Circumnavigation video and we’re all going to follow your lead….

Eliot, I’m at the Ventura Yacht Club, probably through this week and then heading to Paradise Cove, before heading across to Catalina….Probably go around the West End on the way to Cat Harbor. Any recommendations for an overnight anchorage before Cat Harbor, Hoping to spend a week or so on Catalina..,

I grew up in Laguna Beach but worked on a commercial f/v in Homer Alaska for a couple years. The loneliness can definitely creep in if you let it.

Yeah, being totally alone is definitely not an experience most of the world (including me) has truly experienced.

If you enjoyed the doco about Robin Knox-Johnson you would probably find inspiration in a couple of books written well before you were born: Trekka round the World by John Guzwell and The Dove by Robin Lee Graham. I enjoyed your video and look forward to seeing more of your exploits.

Enjoyed the video, except the negative comment about colonialism, of which you've been reaping the benefits your entire life and don't seem to have a problem with.

Wow. I really love this. The combination of interesting commentary both historical and also weaving into commentary about the trip I feel like I was right there with you. Awesome drone shots. How did you make such smooth moving video shots? Congrats. This is something to be proud of.
