The banjo player extraordinaire is the one and only Doug Dillard!! RIP Amen!!

Them boys know how to sing. We miss JD. His Banjo playing has always thrilled me. One interesting thing is that he uses very light gauge strings, and gets A very sweet set sustaining sound. It's so hard to play fast hard driving Bluegrass with light strings.

I was glad to find this! I first heard them at the Lock, Stock, & Barrel Restaurant in Williamson, WV when I was younger. Then I had the good fortune to be neighbors with Marshall, Ada, Jimmy, and Ada's mom Lilly for over 20 years. They were like family to me and my husband. They are all gone now and I miss them so much.

LOL "hang out of the grass to lean against the ground" and "two bats and a whippoorwill." Had no idea Mitch was the comedian.

I was blessed to play with these guys! I took over guitar with Indiana Grass after Dave left and joined TJ's Review. Don's daughter Kim along with Tom Clauson also played with Indiana Grass. We toured quite a bit with doing shows with a lot of great bands and players. Especially with Mac Weissman, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver, the Osborne Brothers, the Lewis Family and The Boys From Indiana, The Seldom Scene, JD Crowe, and TJ's Review which I hooked up with on their album Can't Help But Wonder Where I'm Bound. A fantastic time! I love them all!

Ah Bill!! What a lovely man! I remember Decoration Day at his place. He and Hattie made such an impression! And the music!! With the Progress Red Hots! I was in a band called The Bogus Brothers and met him and them at the Carroll County Hoedown in--I don't know--maybe '75 or thereabouts. We were from Bloomington, Indiana. I still play a tune of his called That Old Coat On the Rack. Bill lives! Thanks so much for posting this video!

If I did this I’d feel like Dennis Hale while he was on a liferaft! But I guess once you learn the sounds of the attacks, it’d be ok, but I’d be dying quicker than you can say methuselah!

Thank you for this. Playing albums is a wonderful thing; even better when remembering old festivals, concerts, and barroom gigs. To have a video to go with the music: stupendous!

Hi Curt. This video is on I made recently from my mother's vinyl collection. That's about all the knowledge I have, other than I am friends with Kevin Williamson, Jerry's son, who is my age.

My, how times have changed. But I really dont think she expected her career to blow up and that she would get to work with such a diverse group of musicians and singers.

It's hard to say exactly, but based on similar quality video, my best guess is 1986 or 87. The Lewis Family came every winter for about 10 years, starting in 1986.

Vince has done a great job singing together with Dawn Sears backup voice. Merle would be very proud of Vince singing this particular song as it is a wonderful song, sang from the heart. I LOVE Vince he has such a unique style voice. No one shall ever have a voice like Vince Gill. He is my favourite singer now that we have lost Waylon @ Dawn @ Merle.May they all always be resting in peace. All very sadly missed .But there great music lives on in my heart and soul. Godbless them Best wishes Elizabeth Scotland .Thank you again Vince Gill .❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
