😂 you were suppose to spray the fire extinguisher into the air filter. It clogs it up so the engine can't get air; resulting in killing the motor.

Eeewwww! Did you really just spray a chemical extinguisher in there? Suppose to use CO2 type…lol.

having an E-powered winch has some big drawbacks to. If your battery dies, it's all over as well.

Blocking the air intake does work but you can’t use something solid like a block of wood like you guys tried, use something like a pair of leather welding gloves or leather welding apron and then something solid so you don’t risk your hand but the leather welding gloves or apron works great to seal

It's a terrible company all round. This is what happens when people run something half assed. I've been to Vancouver, and it's a contagious attitude problem, born from having a hugely overcrowded (and huge client base) and this is what happens and when customer service evaporates. You don't get this problem in NZ with your population. Btw it's the same in the uk now, supermarket attitudes are go somewhere else if you don't like it, there's one born every minute (customer) and that goes for the way they treat their staff too.

Usually by the time you realize what is happening and get the hood open all the oil has been sucked out the engine and it has blown a rod through the side of the block.A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION!I would never recommend any attempts to stop it.JUST WALK AWAY and get some clean air then call a tow truck.😮

i mean, petrols could probably take a little more water through the intake than diesels as diesels have a higher compression ratio. hydrolock is when theres water in the chamber and the piston comes up on the compression stroke to compress fuel and air mixture but as we all know, you cannot compress water, so you hear very loud knocking and bangs which is the pistons cracking or the conrods are snapping/bending and hitting

The inuitive physics say - remove the fuel or the air. If you can stop air flow, it can’t combust. But in practice….

I wonder if you left the car in gear and slowly towed it, it might force the engine to rotate and eject the water? If you did it in a high gear, it would turn the engine more slowly and with more torque (because reverse power through a gearbox reverses the ratio) Edit: oh... There's water in the sump. Nevermind.

Cut all air off and if you have spare oil oversaturate which is still a gamble but it can still combust of feul/oil mixture or co2 fire extinguisher will eliminate oxygen thus suffocating the diesel

Hello again, I very much would appreciate some more details on the towing system. I understand that the brake force is controlled by the black box on the dash. Apart from applying manually, how is the braking force built up?

Hello and thanks for the vid. In Europe, Land Rover recommends a max towing load of 2tons. Besides this, there are a few Series 3 road legal with a higher capacity, some eben 3.5 to total trailer mass . But you need a certification of a technical control authority ( TÜV,Dekra,) , MOT in UK. The easiest way to convice the engineer, a Series Land Rover can tow 3.5 ton on the hitch, is a lettre from Land Rover, stating this as possible. Nowadays, they would not do you this favour - I guess. How is this in Aussie?

Hi and thanks for the vid. Did you weld the flange flush to the edge of the shakle-studtube? Or did you leave a gap of about 3 mm for the flange of the PU bush?

Is it really a good product? You prominently show the production quality in terms of accuracy. I would have send them back. I bought a set if four, shocks included, for our 109 Series 3, ex-mod (thus extended springhangers), 1984, before we start a trip to Moroc. The delivered shocks did not fit ( too short). We bought a proper set from a different supplier in the UK. The new sprjngs lifted the vehicle - about 4 inches (if my memory doesn't fool me), so we bought customized propshafts (UK, HD style, wider articulation). Three months and about 4 000 kilometers later, a front spring layer broke with a loud bang, fortunately at about 30 km/h , but in the early night on a gravel " green" lane, elsewhere 👍in a dark forest. We carefully drove back and checked-in on a campsite. Rocky Mountain could not send a replacement spring to the campsite in Moroc, so we bought a set of Britparts via Paddock spares, UK, and let them sent to ADAC, Munich, ( Great organization in Germany for supporting car owners and drivers in case of a break-down). They managed the customs regulations. Now, five years later and about 5 ooo kilometers in addition on the clock, the bushes ( rubber) are shot. The parabolics - front and rear - sagged to the level the old genuine provided. From this experience, I wouldn't buy Rocky Mountain again.
