That’s not how hallow points work yes they do expand and the petals do shear off but it will not just explode on impact it still needs time to have that energy dissipate and expand the nose so it will do the same thing as an fmj if you were to AD only reason I don’t ever recommend carrying fmj is the high risk of over pen and possible injury to an innocent and yes you can over pen with hallow points too but it’s less likely
