Very interesting! I am not Jewish and have never seen (or been) inside a synagogue. This video was something that someone else referred me to. It is good to hear "survivors stories" of things that are essentially (for most of us) distant news events...controversial to be sure. But sometimes political controversy smothers over the human experiences in all of this..

Yes, it is. When the zionists decided to colonise and ethnically cleanse 700,000 palestinians, was that not aggression? Whilst israel has bombed and killed and starved innocent gazans, to a point where the estimated death toll is nearly 200,000, is that not aggression?

I heard Din speak in June in Brattleboro, Vermont. I took a picture of his picture of Bar, which has been on my phone screen ever since, so I see Bar every day. I pray for his quick and safe return. Din, you are a kind and caring person with an incredible story and an important message. May the God of Israel bless you and keep you.

IN ADMITTING OUR FAULTS AND FAILURES. ON A INDIVIDUAL PLATFORM. THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE FLESH IS FLESH, BUT THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT... THESE WORDS DID JESUS OUR MESSIAH SPOKE TO NICODEMUS A PHARISEE RULER OF THE JEWS. CHRIST ALSO TOLD HIM.. " I SAY TO YOU, UNLESS ONE IS BORN AGAIN, HE CANNOT SEE THE KINGDOM OF GOD(YAWEH). CENTURIES BEFORE THIS ENCOUNTER, ISAIAH THE PROPHET PREDICTS THE MESSIAH. IN THE BOOK OF ISAIAH 7:14 BEHOLD THE VIRGEN SHALL CONCIEVE AND BEAR A SON... 9:6. EZEKIEL, AND JEREMIAH ALSO PREDICTS THE COMING OF THE MESSIAH!! MOSES ALSO PREDICTED THE FORESHADOW OF JESUS (YESHUA) ISAIAH ALSO PROPHESIED " YESHUA HAS FOUNDED ZION! ISAIAH 14:32. RABBI YAWEH HAS A PLAN OF SALVATION FOR THE WORLD, THROUGH THE CRUCIFIXION OF JESUS CHRIST OUR MESSIAH.. GOD REVEALS TO THE PROPHET ISAIAH THE HORRENDOUS ORDEAL THAT HE WENT (CHRIST OUR SAVIOR) THROUGH ON THE WAY TO THE CROSS... THE FIRST AND SECOND TEMPLES WERE DESTROYED. BY THE ENEMIES OF ISRAEL, BECAUSE OF THEIR REBELLION AND SINFUL WAYS TOWARD GOD, HE SEND ISAIAH, AND EZEKIEL TO EARN THEM BUT THEY REFUSED TO LISTEN GOD SEND THEIR ENEMIES TO ANNIALATE ISRAEL AND THEY BECAME SLAVES TO THEM.. DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?? GOD IS LOOKING FOR A PEOPLE THAT WILL SURRENDER ALL ... GOD SAYS: THEY HONOR ME WITH THEIR LIPS BUT THEIR HEARTS ARE FAR FROM ME.. JESUS SPOKE IN MATTHEW 5.:1. BLESSED ARE THE POOR IN SPIRIT FOR THEIRS IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN..

Faith is shameless. Believers begin their crimes like Moses, becoming history's worst navigator, as if travel were best done with one foot in fantasyland. Believers fail to comprehend the saying of Jesus Christ which has lasted to this day. Believers are found among a gathering crowd, when Jesus Christ is alarmed by a wicked generation, those who seek the signs of resurrection. "The only sign given is Jonah" - who was a believer. He was outnumbered & murdered by other believers. Jesus Christ "hangeth on a tree" to celebrate the War of the Jews.

I find that believers strike out with threats, when informed of reasoned denial, of the existence of a God outside of fiction. Atheist literature goes back to 500 BC. I suspect educated men have always known Deity as a tool of fiction, a tool of state. What greater audacity can there be than a claim to some relationship with a Deity? Believers begin their crimes like Moses, becoming history's worst navigator, as if travel were best done with one foot in fantasyland. Believers fail to comprehend the saying of Jesus Christ which has lasted to this day. Believers are found among a gathering crowd, when Jesus Christ is alarmed by a wicked generation, those who seek the signs of resurrection. "The only sign given is Jonah" - who was a believer. He was outnumbered & murdered by other believers. Jesus Christ "hangeth on a tree" to celebrate the War of the Jews. "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree:" Galatians 3:13 "Render to Caesar"

How can you possibly take faith seriously? How can anyone in their right mind ask others to believe in the existence of a Deity who makes Mormons so Christians will know how Jews feel, having had their literature hijacked. Nothing fails like prayers in a children's hospital & indoctrinating children is criminal. The faith vocabulary causes the user to be avoided like the old woman with too many cats. Faith "comes not with peace, but sword." Faith comes with wolves dressed as sheep & preaching to the choir. Faith trades the last cow for a pocketful of magic beans & then expects everyone's appreciation. It is by Faith, Moses becomes the worst navigator in history. Jesus said, it is a wicked generations which seeks signs such as resurrection. Faith is as worthless as fantasyland magic, since you can't tell mountains to move. The "only sign given" in reality "is Jonah": A believer murdered by other believers because he is outnumbered. The context is Jesus seeing a gathering crowd, so it is up to us, to reject religious nonsense, nothing fails like prayers in a children's hospital. Believers have no sense of responsibility, or standards. Theologians grant each other doctorates, as if, equal to a science. It is a, have it both ways world, for the believers. It is an authoritarian, fascist world which says: "My sheep hear My voice".

The Christ fantasy ignores Jesus saying, "This is a wicked generation seeking signs, the only sign given is Jonah," a believer murdered by a larger number of believers. The King of the Jews is mounted on a stick, because Romans made a parody of the avatar, the icon. "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree:" Galatians 3:13

That makes sense. Maybe we should look at our friends and divide them into (1) those that enhance our lives (2) those that keep the present value of our lives continuing (are these most of our friends?) and those that lessen our spiritual existence.

How is it possibly ethical to suggest the equivalent of a notion we all travel with one foot in a stranger's fantasyland, using fictional vocabulary: prophecy, prayer, etc. ?

I agree with you but I think we should also concentrate on showing love and understanding for the other religions. (some of them anyway)/ We should not only be a light to other nations but invite them to participate in our ethical system. Learn together with Christians from the point that they can as easily become Jews as easily as Jews can become Christians. Is that dangerous to Judaism? Yes, But it is also necessary.. Will to dilute Judaism? I doubt it. I have recently become a Stoic. Does that decrease my Judaism? No, it increases it My respect for Stoicism increases my respect for and understanding of Judaism.

That is a great speech and needed to be said but I am afraid it is falling on deaf ears. Trudeau is an anti-semite. Asking for his understanding will not work. As I wrote to Rabbi Sacks, anti-Semitism is giving our non-Jewish neighbours an opportunity to act according to their own best ethics. We should be thanked for giving them an opportunity to be the best ethical beings that they can be. -thanked for that and for our great contribution to the growth of our country and the ethics of our country.

Dear Rabbi Sachs, I write to you with great respect for your position and the profound empathy you have shown towards your community. Rabbi Sachs, Jewish voices have historically been at the forefront of advocating for truth and justice. Today, this legacy continues as many within the Jewish community stand in solidarity with oppressed peoples, including Palestinians. Their plight, often mired in political rhetoric, calls for voices that can articulate a path towards peace and reconciliation. I urge you to consider exploring a range of narratives about this conflict, especially those that may challenge the mainstream discourse in Israel. It's not about assigning blame but understanding the multifaceted nature of this tragedy. I believe your voice, guided by the principles of justice and compassion inherent in Judaism, could contribute significantly to a more nuanced understanding of the situation. In doing so, you might find that the path to truth is complex and often uncomfortable, but it is a journey worth undertaking for those who seek peace and justice. Your leadership and insight could be instrumental in bridging divides and fostering a dialogue rooted in empathy and understanding. May your decisions be guided by wisdom, courage, and the enduring values of your faith. I pray for the safety of you and your community.

Just to make sure your message is evident to everyone, what you’ve said is that if Jews believe in Israel’s right to exist they deserve to be victims of hate crimes. You hit it on the nose. Trudeau divides Canadians. Excellent speech. The majority of Canadians will be voting Trudeau out. Our new government will certainly be an improvement. I myself as a christian Canadian will support the jews in this Country as well as the jews in Israel. They have morals and values that so so many do not. I'm so disgusted & ashamed of those so called Canadians in the streets praising Hamas & glorifying them for the massacre on Oct 7 that caused me to be physically sick to my stomach, and mourn those tortured souls of babies toddlers women & elderly. What has become if good loving people who helped their neighbors in time of need no matter what race or religion. We watched each others kids and fed the hungry & the sick. What kind of people have we allowed in our Country who chose to hate instead of love. I myself will chose to love God & people. Especially I will always support God's people ISRAEL. BLESS THEM.🎉🎉🎉

I agree we must fight for a better world, but this often involves ridding this world of people who do terrible things. - We must rid the world of Sodom and Gomorrah so that the next generation can have a better world. If that means going beyond pure justice, then so be it. It is the only way to "a better world"

Hi Rabbi - Again thank you for allowing me to sit close to hear you. Unfortunately as I mentioned, I could still not understand with the cell phone connection enough to really understand the full significance of your dvar. I learned from your dvar as I always do, but have a comment. We should each have an ideal "me" in our minds. When we "sin" we are taking away from ourselves that picture of the ideal "me". Therefore our sins are not only against God and our community but against ourselves - our ideal selves - which is hopefully an image of the ideal "me". As we have acted to harm ourselves, we must apologize to ourselves as well as God and the person we have hurt, because perhaps the person we have hurt most is ourselves. That is important in our hopeful progress to be the best "me" that we can be. The essential change in ourselves that you mentioned and that is so important , I believe can be achieved more easily with an apology to ourselves. Again thank you. (signed) Jonathan
