How does Leap frog repeat 9 times? It need another kin or jockey right? Also one effect from a same model do not stack if I haven't make it wrong.
@Gruundil4 күн бұрын
Placing on another jockey is not a cost, it's an effect so you can declare the action and you don't resolve the place, but you already pay the cost. And effect can stack, there is limit only about aura affecting an ennemy.

Why is your cursor always blinking? It makes it very hard to watch...
@simonbattersby30438 күн бұрын
Can you show me a timestamp where it's happening please mate? Or do you mean just moving the cursor around? It simply records what I see so obviously if I'm scrolling around with the mouse it shows that, not much to be done about it I'm afraid in my own games. You can simply watch other games to avoid it if it's an issue
@8adhabits9755 күн бұрын
@@simonbattersby3043 Its not when scrolling around, but more likely when moving a piece on the board (Feels like there is either something on background causing it or maybe u hold some button that makes it blink.) Ill show few timestamps - 1:52 (very beginning - bottom right watch the cursor). 2:55 - and you can see that when cards are drawn it is not blinking, but when moving models it does. Pretty sure its some kind of key + mouse combination causing it. (it happens throughout the whole game so there are tons of timestamps, but 2 should be enough.)

@@8adhabits975 Ah sure I see it, it happens when I have clicked and dragged a model to check out placement, or am waiting for my opponent to pass clock and know what i'm going to do. It's incredibly minor to my eyes and I've no idea how to fix it anyway, but unfortunate for you that you find it irritating. Thanks for finding the timestamps so I could check it out

So one of the reasons I played Linh 1 this round was to provide gameplay to go along with the guide I just put out on her. It includes a fair bit of discussion on those models and how often I think you should include them. Tiger is one that I recognise the weaknesses of but absolutely adore the strengths. Koji is a model I've almost never played but in Linh 1 specifically, have fallen in love with, and as a result started testing him elsewhere too. I've been impressed so far

I know how difficult it is to keep track of everything during the game and I often struggle with that myself, but I would like to point out some other interactions that were played incorrectly for other fellow shenlong enthusiast to know. 1. low river style forces you to declare whether you would like to spent a chi on a suite after cards are flipped so before cheating (same as chi) 2. trigger on shen bonus allows you to get a focus and therefore it doesn't trigger golem ability because that one specifically mentions a concentrate anyway was a great game thanks for recording

Regarding 1 tricking, I think my response largely depends on the reason why people dislike it: - Variety. Making this not allowed for variety's sake moves to goalposts so far in the direction of those that enjoy and are willing to/have the time to learn deeply multiple masters in multiple matchups that I think it would flat out shrink the pool of willing interested players. Possibly even already entrenched players not wanting to deal with the extra prep load. I was thinking about joining MWS next season, if I have to play Iron Scorpius and learn way more masters than I'm actually interested in I would absolutely not join. I don't know that new (to MWS) players are on people's mind much but this kind of restriction is likely to impact that significantly imo. - Malifaux is an already deep and complex game where 1 wrong decision can win or lose a game easily. Adding more to the complexity pile by forcing extra masters in also feels unnecessary to me. Like the first point this just further creates a gap for a tiny minority at the top from the rest. Which funnily enough I think ends up leading to a small meta game of players, maybe they'd be using different masters but you're still only running into the same smaller group of people willing to jump through the hoops. - People running a broken master into the ground, I think warping the entire format structure to indirectly nerf broken masters by forcing extra masters is probably not a great strategy for dealing with them. - For a more emotional argument, why should I not be allowed to just run my favorite master cause I like playing them? Cause my opponent played 100 games of Malifaux in the last 6 months and they're tired of seeing this master? I'm inclined to just say "too bad". If I'm rocking up for a game that lasts a couple hours I want to play crews I like and do my damnedest to win with them, not something I'm forced into cause mine are locked out.
@timothybassett2772Ай бұрын
I agree 100% with your comment about the top 32 being good because it provides a lot of games to record and a lot of videos to upload to provide loads of awareness and content for the game. I’ve been on a malifaux break for a couple of years (life, kids, etc) and when I saw your top 32 brackets breakdown I got excited and have watched every uploaded game from all the participants and it’s really inspired me to get my models out, buy a few of the newer ones and build and paint the crews back up to a ready to play state. I’ve also found that the top 32 shows a few masters/factions that probably wouldn’t show up at all if the event kicked off immediately at top 16, so I’ve really enjoyed watching games and seeing models I’ve never seen on the table before. I appreciate the effort of putting all the videos up, it’s been hours of enjoyment on my end. Cheers 😀

Kind of you to take the time to let me know it's appreciated. Glad you've become inspired to get back involved recently!

I've definitely moved to 1 tricking for tournaments not because I think its stronger, but at least for in person events I have limited mental resources to use in a given day and most in person events I don't want to spend some of that trying to think through matchups and picking a master and crew. When I was younger I was able to handle that selection process but now I'm old and dumb.
@erikklarenberg9019Ай бұрын
On the 1-tricking a certain master through the tournament, i do find it an interesting debate from multiple viewpoints 1- Lore. I know you couldn't care less about it, but a Malifaux game is a little story that is being played out between 2 rivalling factions in the world of Malifaux. The faction sending out a specific master (which picks its crew) to get that job done. So when winning a game with a certain master, that master has achieved it's goals in that 'time period' the tournament takes place. Other games within that tournament/bracket happen at the same time frame. 2- By not being able to just pick the same master each game, the game gets an additional layer of strategy. Picking the right master and crew for the right Strat/scheme pool. So it is more about making the game 'wider'. This will also prevent the 'kill-80%-of-opponents-models-score-after' crews strategy as an aways available option. 3- Diversity brings (for most people) more interesting games and dynamics. Thus hopefully attracting more people to watch the MWS games and getting into Malifaux. For most people, watching 4 games of Asami vs. Perdita in a row isn't as much fun. 4- The Master imbalance Malifaux has, can be a bit less determining the outcome of a tournament, if you can't just mono-play a master. I understand that the Factions imbalance can come into play here with some factions having more top tier depth than others, but that is still a better place for the game i feel. A tournament should be won by a Faction, not by a Master. Those are my 4 cents... (I get that the 'for most people' might not be a valid argument because the MWS is not for the public/spectators but for the players, but still...) And thank you for your amazing content and the effort you put into it. It is much appreciated.
@simonbattersby3043Ай бұрын
I specifically asked for everyone's feedback not just players, I think people that watch and follow the mws probably outnumber those that play in it. I also think that that, serves to grow the online community and malifaux as a whole, especially the competitive scene. Therefore your '4 cents' are just as valuable as anyone else's. With that said you are of course entirely wrong about lore 😂 it shouldn't really play a role in competitive tournaments at all in my eyes and most certainly not in the top 32. The rest of your points are valid and I'm interested to hear how much of it people agree with, Vs the contradictory remarks I made in the video. Thanks for the feedback and taking the time to get involved in the discussion

I would like to support the call for variety from a viewer's perspective, intentionally ignoring actual players' preferences. I might be wrong, but I believe, that a big part of mws audience watches these games not in a way of sports fans (to see, who is better and/or to support their champion) but to improve their own play. I mostly watch games with either my masters, or masters I struggle with locally, to see how better players tackle them. I totally understand, it is not responsibility of world's top players competing in the top tournament to play for audience's pleasure (or even to teach them!), but in addition to what was already said, diversity in played masters can help the audience in this regard, too.
