An exceptionally good wuxia show. It does take a few episodes to get into its pace, but it's well worth it as the plot unfolds and the characters get more development. I actually ended up loving the whole low-key aesthetic of the show, including subdued colors, greenish tint, and crisp and very precise fighting scenes (which I loved contrary to many other opinions on the Internet). The flying and twirling also look more natural than in many other movies/shows I've watched. All in all, SSS gives a more natural feel and there's not too much CGI (you will see it mostly in the big fights or some key wuxia-power-related scenes). It's definitely one of the most well-written plots out there, and it's the same screenwriter who gave us JOL, so he didn't disappoint this time as well. Lots of strong female characters, too! And a very lovely, sweet romance between ML and FL that takes no more than 10% of overall screen time (but it's done incredibly well). Do recommend this drama - it's a 10/10 for me.

Those footsteps are loud and so annoying. Maybe those buildings are not real concrete and was built of wood for filming. If those footsteps are sound effects, it's horrible. As if big foot is coming!

All i can say, with so much different family background, in real life. A person like Su and Mr. huang will never date to reach the point of marriage. Come on, give me a break. Or maybe the director just try to show us the best of human traits!

Many people feel sorry for Run Yu because he has lost a lot and he deserves to have Jin Mi. I think all of them lost, just more or less. Both bothers love Jin Mi but only Xufeng showed his affection publicly since he starts having feelings for her, Run Yu, on the hand, chose power because that's the only way he could have his revenge. If I were him, I would do the same, the late King and Queen were horrible people and deserved to be punished. If Run Yu didn't mutiny, nobody would be able to do that (former Demon Kings were simply incompetent). However his unrequited love, other than making him become more and more bitter and painful, doesn't help him win Jin Mi's heart. He and Jin Mi didnt go through what Xufeng and Jin Mi went through. And the most important thing is the couple loves each other, the heart wants what it wants. In the end, everyone lost but they also gained due to the path they chose. I love this drama, have watched it several times and cant get over it. I even read the book after my first time watching it and to me everyone whoever got involved in making this drama can be proud of themselves. The story, the plot, the cast, the costumes and the soundtrack are excellent. Not many dramas are being watched over and over like this one, I think.

I was born in Ankara- 🇹🇷, socialized in Frankfurt a/M- 🇩🇪, studied & worked in 🇩🇪, 🇮🇹, 🇪🇸, 🇺🇲...now watching this very unique Chinese series here in Seattle, WA, 🇺🇲...kinda like a junkie... 😂🎶🎵 Bravo... from script, selecting the most fitting & talented actresses & actors to cinematography I have absolutely no mentionsworthy critiques...the risk & creativity to combine multiple genres (from traditional C-dramas - multicultural elements to scifi/ fantasy...) is seemless as if it was done by an exceptionally skilled plastic surgeon/team who's also passionate about his/her/their creation. The first time a movie was so pleasantly saturating for me was *Brazil*, yrs later it was *Tampopo*....the movies in between & later stood out due to heavy use of CGI ... ... unfortunately nowadays CGI is so over used it distracted me from real acting, natural environments & then some. I like that this series is true to basic filming...as well to other equally factors (talents & skills) I was almost convinced we globally had lost in 2024. Thank you for the upload & a *STANDING OVATION* to everybody who was involved creating this exceptional series ❤

This man has an avoidant attachment style because of his parents' contentious relationship and divorce. Rose is overreacting because she has been spoiled by her family. She is very lucky to have such a loving, supportive family. She jumped into this relationship too fast and expected too much from the relationship too soon. He loves her, but at heart, he can't risk watching his relationship with any woman turn into his parents' relationship. Their families are very different.

This is one of the best scenes of the drama. His untying of his shirt in anticipation. The way his eyes light up when he realizes she will kiss him if he talks about dying. And then, the 'pocket search'. In the morning, his eyes pop open when he realizes he 'has time'. Love this drama.
