The movie shows us two examples of how poor families became intertwined in the enclaves of the rich. Rich people exist in every type of economic system so your critique of this movie critiquing capitalism is shallow at best. There are two parallels between the poor family - the original parasites hid in the basement to hide from a bad investment. The new parasites conned their way into a rich family and found work through them. Capitalism works in functioning democracies. I would much rather live under capitalism than socialism. Marx was not an economist, but a political philosopher at best who leeched off of Engels to write his books. The type of capitalism (ie industrialism) he critiques can be seen through how the elites exploit globalization. What we saw in Parasite would still be seen in Communist political systems implementing state capitalism or socialism with capitalist characteristics. You need capitalism in order for a society to build and distribute wealth through meritocracy (ie. work hard, take risks and reap the rewards).

The Tim Pool approach of "If it critiques Capitalism, it's actually just critiquing Communism and Capitalism is actually very very good and also I am just smarter than the creator who doesn't understand how great Capitalism is." It's really easy to say this when you're not at the bottom, because no doubt since you have the time and means to watch this video, you're not at the bottom. I'm sure a lot of people that can't get out of the hole that this country digs for the lowest class would rather at least try a different system than be told "IT's entirely your fault exclusively for your situation, the system is perfect as is."

The best approach is used is: 1 work only as productive as your collegaues. and if they are in a trade union you might be able too confence them to skip "overtime" on mass 2. Spend your extra motivation/engergy you have for jour intrests into oranizing workers either in a study group/part/union preferable all three to live a the full struggle spectrum 3. Your boss is a parasite which he does not know, if you can avoid intteraction with him, do so. If you can skip work with a valid excuse, do so. If your boss wants to fire you aree 2 weeks of legit sickness? Go too your union, collegaues or court to fight it. The goal is too intesify the contradiction in irrational firing of workers.

Great video! Upon searching for "the problem with productivity; productivity obsessions; toxic productivity" it's astonishing how few videos there are that remotely delve into it or seek to explain it. In fact, a lot of channels and guru's endorse the opposite. The toxicity of hustle culture is becoming more evident to those who start experiencing burn out - and guess what - not a whole lot of elaboration on burnout. Great work on elaboration of the "Productivity Paradox!" It does seem to have very close ties with the prevalence of Imposter Syndrome and the writings of Foucault. Wish more channels explored parallels and inter-related connections to the flip sides of everything that we cling to in society.

Exactly... I feel as if this is also resulting in the decline of the appreciation of art for art's sake. Whether it's appreciating meaningful fiction books, art or music, or the pursuit of a creative hobby for its own sake, I feel as if less and less people are able to notice the intrinsic value of art.

I have watched this video three times already! Your speech, and what you have to say, is so captivating and you give clear links with every of your points and arguments! I love how you worded it as uncertainty, and how you made clear connections between these critiques of Marx on the Capitalist economy. Though the link was, in hindsight, perhaps such an obvious destination- I was baffled that I had never thought of it before! So amazing! I am currently writing a review paper about Parasite, and this video gave me the strength and knowledge I need to fulfill it!

Thanks for your analysis and summary! I think what is so great about the film is its use of many symbolisms to depict the harsh reality of capitalism from many angles.
