The people that are criticizing these men would never do this job.

Does not does not look like they're working hard to put this fire out sad man looks like they're just going to let these people's house burn now there's no urgency or anything they're just nonchalantly walking around as the fire burns down the house The neighbors could have been have done a better job then their local fire department

Buffalo FD knows their business. The "nonchalant" guys walking out with tools are the truck crews. They've opened up the house to allow the engine crews in with water & they've ventilated to let the smoke out. Hot smoke is highly combustible. Also, a primary search for people or hazards needs to be completed ASAP. I admit this video doesn't look great but this is tried & true methodology. No one, & I mean no one, should be running around an incident scene, especially one covered in snow & ice. Falls are often the most common injuries we see in firefighters. Safety is priority one in emergency services. Thanks for the opportunity to educate. Please test your smoke & CO alarms & change the batteries if > 6 months old or you're unsure.

Aggressive attack, but get a smaller ladder. If that one kicks out could cause trouble. Was entrance blocked??

Clearly there is a fire by the regular entrance if you look in the side window

This structure is located in Cheektowaga, a suburb of Buffalo with an all volunteer fire dept. (10 districts). This structure has been for sale for a long time. Upon arrival, firefighters found the side door kicked in. The fire occurred at approximately 03:30 hrs.

Its not. Its being filmed over some shrubbery in the foreground. You can Google street view the house at the North St address in the description above (in Hamburg, NY).

My husband was a Firefighter when we first married. An abandoned hotel was on fire. My husband's fire chief was leading his men inside the hotel, and it collapsed. His chief was buried in a pile of rubble, and was found deceased in a search and recovery mission. Our hearts are with the family of Firefighter Arno, as well with his brothers and sisters of the Buffalo Fire Department. It is something that will be etched in the hearts and minds of all involved forever. All are in our thought and prayers.🙏 ❤️🖤❤️🙏

May I ask a question? Why was the firefighter still in the building after the evacuation call? From what I have seen the collapse happened to minutes after the evacuation. Is that not enough time? My sincere condolences to his home and firefighter family. Every time I learn things about firefighters they become greater hero's.

They said he was found about forty feet inside the structure. He may not have been able to find the door to get out. Also, these videos are cut/edited in such a way that it’s not always possible to get an accurate read of how much time elapsed. The mayday may have happened at the same time or nearer to the evac tones. Without being there, it’s impossible to know for certain what happened. May he rest in eternal peace.

Lost life over a vacant building?
@llang140 Жыл бұрын
The building was not vacant. There was a costume shop on the first floor Buffalo DC Theatricks. The 3 floors were filled with costumes. They provide local theatres with costumes for their plays. There were people doing work on the side of the building using some kind of torch and they think it was possible that the torch ignited a fire in the wall and smoldered there for a while. So the building wasn't vacant. Not only that the building wasn't in a run down part of buffalo. It could have been possible if the building was totally vacant that there could have been homeless people in the building. The events that transpired to the point where the firefighter became trapped was within the first 20 minutes after arriving at the fire.
