What's fascinating is that these filmmakers didn't have access to today's computer technology. This indicates that achieving great visual effects was never solely about budget that brings advanced technology; there were other crucial elements at play. The Indian VFX industry can create realistic effects, but the problem is with how the shots are put together. Too much reliance on VFX is affecting the overall look and feel of movies. Rather than blaming budget and time constraints, we should focus on an overlooked issue - the design of shots. Unlike Hollywood in the 80s and 90s, our industry hasn't prioritized visual effects design. We need more discussions about how preproduction, action scenes, set design, acting, practical effects, and camera work all play a role in making VFX work seamlessly with the story. It's not just about money and technology; it's about smart design.
