The first phrase of the 2nd beautiful piece 'Lady Goes to Church' 4:11 is from Guillaume de Machaut (c. 1300 - 1377) 'Puisqu'en oubli suis de vous, dous amis', but it grows into something almost completely very different: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnOnlHt7o76Cf7c

Good morning. Wonderful, masterful playing. Who has the tabs to this version?

Interesting that here Lady Goes to Church is being played in the 2nd position Bm shape instead of the open Am shape that Renbourn used. Also in standard rather than Renbourn's Drop D. Would love to see the tab for this. This approach may pay dividends.

It is a Bown, originally made for John Renbourn....but don't care for the guitarbrand, Clive sounds as good on a broomstick... kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYaxYn2LbJ2Jhtksi=LuwE4bqiRFibFkDj&t=286

I've been trying to learn this for years. I think its more my attention span thats stopping me rather than the technical difficulty, although it obviously very complicated

This is astonishing, just completely amazing. It even brings tears to my eyes. Clive Caroll adds a Classical sensibility to Renbourn's compositions, which the master himself, in all honesty, often had a tendency to play a little too fast, almost as if he were deliberately trying to evade self-seriousness. This approach, of course, went hand in hand with his humourous, often ironic and even self-deprecating banter between songs in a 'live' setting, but really his self-penned material was of the highest imaginable standard. Carroll brings out the true potential of Renbourn's compositions here and shows us they were even deeper and stronger than we thought they were. And then I say no more.
