Do you find your kids using those “where are the supplies” posters in your TAB section? Also how is the behavior system going? Does it still work? I know clipping up and down was popular 7 years ago when I started but I’ve heard people give it some shade and just wondered if you still find success with it.

Ahhh yes moralizing kids behavior instead of understanding it as communication, great way to have little people pleasers...this is so funny becoming a teacher so you can control children
@Tourmaline84132 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you're familiar with neurodivergent kids, and/or are familiar with Dr. Ross Greene's methods. I definitely don't like this kind of "behaviorism" as it is based upon compliance based goals, taking away a child's right to say "no", and kills intrinsic motivation. If a student is having problems, I would rather check in with them individually, often with a simple "are you ok?" Or "something sounds off, what's up?" rather than punishing behavior that is communicating a need. I'd rather treat my kids like the people they are, than how Caesar Milan treats his dogs (which has been proven to be literally dangerous). Kids do well when they can. When they are not doing well, there is a very good reason for it.

Ah, quiet critters. I found these guys really cute in kindergarten and still do, would be nice if they could still come around in the older grades (until you reach high school of course) but sadly it might be considered childish, epic creatures in my opinion

Just remember that too much stuff on walls can actually confuse some kids and they won't focus especially kids with learning disabilities.

It is very nice but just think about some of the kids who get distracted easily for too many things to look at and also those who get confused when too much is on the wall etc. Just something to think about.

wonderful ideas. I'm getting all the youtube help I can as a new art teacher. I did paint cans but mine have wire and pantyhose which I painted. I am stealing your sign language posters and behavior sticks!! One complaint on your video, the intro is long and I had to come turn the volume all the way up while I was listening while working in my classroom (8:00 on a sunday night!). Then at the end it sounded like my speakers were going to blow when you stopped talking and the music came back on. Otherwise an awesome video, thanks!!
