Hi, I was looking for cake recipes for the bread maker and came across this video. It looked delicious, so want to give it a try. Can I ask how long you left it in the machine, after the timer ended, for the centre to be fully cooked? Or do I just keep checking every 5-10min or so?? Thanks in advance. ❤

Loved the video. My hubby also puts hot sauce on everything. One day, I got a bright idea to treat the smoked turkey leg like a ham and glazed it with pineapple slices and brown sugar. Talking about fantastic. Try it and see if you like it.

Why do you take he rings off. I leave them on to prevent the lids from popping off or coming unsealed. The contents will last a lot longer if you leave them on.

Can I do this without a pressure canner? Like put a metal pot holder in the bottom of a big pot, with water and a lid? And boil the water, in like a water bath, for 90 minutes?
@TeeTeesUrbanPantryАй бұрын
Sorry meat and veggies aren't acidic enough and need to be pressure canned as boiling water will not get hot enough to kill botulism spores.

I like to make a French Dip with this, a pan of Au Jus ( from the foil packets at the store) nice and hot just where the steam starts to wisp off the Au Jus, then add the Meat and stir, let cook until the meat turns brown and you've got melt in your mouth meat, you can serve the Au Jus in a bowl for dipping, but it's so juicy I've never needed to "Dip", the grilled Onions, Peppers and Cheese would be awesome on this too, I just recommend a layer of cheese on the bottom Bun before you add the meat because the juice will make the bottom soggy and fall apart.

What does "no siphoning" mean? The water bath is not sucked into the canned product?
@TeeTeesUrbanPantry2 ай бұрын
Siphoning is when liquid is drawn out of a jar due to a sudden change in air pressure and temperature. It's best to make sure your jars, water, and food are all hot when you put the jars in. And to prevent siphoning when done let the water temperature drop by waiting before taking out

@@TeeTeesUrbanPantry I'm new at canning. I never knew how critical for jars, water and food to be hot all at the same time. Thanks!
@kdsimms2 ай бұрын
@@TeeTeesUrbanPantry one more question. My next attempt will be canning tomatoes. Is the idea to get the food, jars and water bath hot, before water bathing for 10 mins? How do you get the food in jars hot enough before water bath? Do you sit the jars in the wire cage above the boiling water for awhile to heat and then dunk them?
@TeeTeesUrbanPantry2 ай бұрын
@@kdsimms I will submerge my jars in the canner while it's coming to temperature. I like to raw pack my tomatoes so I have a pot or kettle on the stove coming to temp too. Then I get a hot jar put the tomato in it with a little citric acid and put the kettle of hot water in the jar with the tomatoes. I have a couple of videos on tomatoes and even a live or two. I haven't done it in a while but I will sometimes can live. ❤️
