I open this channel with the intention of pushing people to revalue mountain huts.
My hut dates back to 1870, it was used as a mountain hut for the production of milk and cheese, it had been disused since 1990.
Located in Valtellina (Italy) at 1,200 meters above sea level, it housed cows and calves.
It is a simple, solid and functional structure, absolutely fascinating, so for the renovation I decided to choose the most difficult path: simplify.
As Bruno Munari, a great Italian designer, said: "Complicating is easy, simplifying is difficult"
With this idea in mind I decided to keep all those elements that recalled the old characteristics.
I want to do everything myself with little means and with as little technology as possible.
I hope to see the original idea transformed into reality in the future, all I have to do is understand if the atmosphere I breathe in every time I enter the Baita arouses the same emotions in you too.
