I think a common oversight of "lofi" effects that are applied to signals afterwards is that they are usually "static", so they affect every note or pitch of the sample equally. On the the SP1200 and S2400 in contrast, the signal deteriotes depending on the pitch, so on a one shot sample bassline, every note will have a slightly different amount of "crunch" to it. I think this adds a lot to the classic 12 bit sound, and it is hard to nail with post processing plugins.

I've never been a fan of chopping multiple samples inside sample editor. Much much more efficient to find samples on Pad 1 (where midi is constantly triggering pad 1 when you press play) and copy it to pad 2, then pad 3 etc.
@ruffiankick2 күн бұрын
That's how I do it too! on these and on the 404MK2. I don't like the "chop" option. Chop functions are a little constraining sometimes.

I found if you use the regular SP 1200 engine on the MPC together with the Air Lofi plug in at 26.2 kHz you'll get more of that classic SP aliasing and crunch we all look for. It comes about the closest but nothing beats that classic SP 1200 grusty sound as Kirk State calls it.

Zoom should come back into the sampler market. They understand sonics well; you can tell by their guitar / bass multi-fx gear.

Zbadaj sobie trimowanie sampli glownym knobem. Masz wtedy pod kciukiem buttony do zoomowania waveformu (bodajze przycisk 1 i 2). imo o niebo lepiej to dziala niz przycinanie faderami :) pozdro!

Behringer stuff is MORE than good enough for 90% of people. A cheap hardware compressor will always sound better than the software version of it.

Yo Vu do you still have 2000 and 2000xl? I would like someone with both to try if this is true. Sample in both hot like +2 or 3db of cliping and lets hear results. Some people say 2000 had analog in while xl has digital thats why they colour/saturate/distort different while overdriven. Just another mpc "myth" lets try and bust it :)))

Love creative setup. Does the sound card have ADAT in? [If yes, then you could get a Behringer ada8000 and get all output directly to your DAW with 1 adat-cable for post processing]

If I get 1 used will I need to buy any software?
@MemfisToJa6 күн бұрын
1st: ask prev owner if he wants to keep the software, if not he could unregister hardware from his NI account and get licence transfer possibility. if he wants to keep it and wouldn't unregister device you should still ask NI support if you could get licence with your device S/N - i got mine this way but it was back in 2015 so i don't know if they are willing to give you soft that easy anymore. btw - dope beat bro ;)
@MadCandor6 күн бұрын
You should be able to request the software from the previous owner before purchase
@DJDigitalJosh6 күн бұрын
The software is $69 from NI & a used maschine mk3 is $280 so looking like $350. Not bad. Worth a thought, but it would be glued to a computer.
@MadCandor6 күн бұрын
@@DJDigitalJosh that’s the downside. I ended up selling my Maschine mk3 cuz I hated the software.

It runs with Maschine 2 Software. If it's not included in the second hand offer you will need to buy it from Native Instruments.
