I love this scene as my father God rest his soul wouldve growled and f-ed and blinded much like keiths dad but wouldve said i trust u to do the right thing, im 47 next week, am turning into my dad with my 11 year old son and im eternally grateful to dad for showing me wat that relationship should be ❤

Keith's father is absolutely right to be surprised and then angry. He's absolutely right to test Keith's reasons and conviction about the decision. Then he's absolutely right to decide on infinite trust for his son, even if other Dads would never go along with it. And he's absolutely right to say he won't give up on his encouragement to go to college.
